Not that I'm aware of (unless the others are keeping it quiet from me ), but we did have a meet of 'southerners' a few months back, and that involved some from Essex, Cambridgshire, London and Buckinghamshire (and possibly somewhere else, sorry if I've forgotten ).

I certainly wouldn't be averse to it, but be warned, there may well be an Elgar there too!

Well, using the 7% rate, I get around £160. They're £165 from SRS. I know where I'd rather get it, even if it costs me £5 more...

I bought my lenses from the US and even after UPS charged me duty, vat and their ridiculous fee of £11 and I paid $50 for delivery it still worked out cheaper than buying them in the UK. That is just plain stupid.
Just out of curiosity, what did that all add up to? $200 + $50 + £11 + Duty + VAT ?

I quite like the composition as it is, it gives you a very good sense of place. Without the sea etc, you wouldn't know anything else about the ironwork. I get the impression it was in a villa, by a balcony overlooking the sea.

It all depends on what the point of the picture was. If it was purely as a study of the ironwork, then it probably falls a bit short. As a location shot, I think it works.

Shot #1? Perfect light (on the mountains). Maybe I should have cropped out most of the foreground.
No, I like the foreground too, just it's got that feel of HDR about it, and it was the look of the mountain/cloud junction that first made me aware of it. But, I like the image, although I think it looks slightly unnatural. That's not a criticism, just an observation.

I find merging several portrait format shots easier than fewer landscape format ones, often using a 50mm lens. You still get a reasonable 'height', or vertical field of view, to the image, but with less lens distortion to try and deal with, so the edges match up well.

But your pano looks fantastic, and the first pic was nice too. Before I saw it was an HDR one, I thought something looked a little odd about the tops of the mountain and the clouds, especially on the right hand side, but tthis could be just as easily down to a polariser, or sharpening. Or just perfect light.

Good work that man!
