My entry for this week is a bit poor because MOTION is not bent to my strong side. What I did is a picture of an original oleo paint from a friend of mine. Then in PS CS3 build 6 layers with a 30% transparency and a bit shifted one from the others…




The airplane is a Curtiss Hawk II (1932-1935) with the colors of the Bolivian Air Force fighting in La Guerra del Chaco, Paraguay against Bolivia, one of the most sanguineous wars of South America (100,000 dropped fighters).

Does PS CS3 not have a 'motion blur' filter? Gimp does. It applies a linear (motion) or radial (zoom) blur to a section or all of a picture quite realistically.

dirk, i reckon it would look better if you took out the printing at the rear of the plane, and maybe cloned in a pilot, some clouds, con trails, flames....

Thanks for the C&C. I think there may be different ways to get what I did. Mine is just one of them.

The obvious awkwardness of the airplane motion is intentionally made, and is the essential of the message I try to put in the image (can´t tell more because the competition).

I will game a little with the Motion Blur filter for see how it is (and learn…) PS is for me a never ending learning tool…

I intentionally want to show this as a photography of painting (not a real thing), therefore I didn´t remove the author signature and other things. Also applied a texture filter for empathize the linen painting base (not very effective in this small image size). As I mention to Lenscape, there is a message in this apparent candid image…

For a moment, suppose I was a renowned surrealist photographer, how many art critics should found in my picture a lot of sense, symbolisms and other attributes? For now I´m just D.T.

This week competition looks quite though....

I really think there are a lot to show this week - some really good pictures!

This will be a hard one for Lilly....

Sadly, the subject is not one I have anything in the back catalogue for... unless I have some blinding flash of inspiration between now and Sunday which is unlikely since I'm painting the studio (not on an easel - 2 coats of emulsion!) However, there are some great pictures up there and one in particular should win, I think, so far. It will be interesting to see the result

Yes, good ones and also a lot of them, what a job I am going to have to judge all these entries this week ...and they keep on coming
