Well actually Bob, it's never been cleaned at all but hopefully Dan will be coming round tonite and that will be resolved.
If it works I'll buy whatever stuff Dan uses.
I shall be using two methods for the clean, which I used many times with success with my *istD.
First, a quick spray with some liquid catnip to soften the dirt. Then, introduce a well trained cat to the sensor - its rough tongue is enough to shift the most stubborn dirt and pollen. The catnip helps encourage it to lick the sensor. Job done!

(Actually, I'll use a rocket blower, to see how much that shifts, then the sensor swabs and Eclipse fluid, as linked to by Bob. Never had any trouble with this, although I no longer use it as it's incompatible with the K10D sensor. Handy for cleaning lenses and the wife's glasses though, and I'll hang onto it in case I start using the *istD again. As a further aside, I've never had the need to give the K10D sensor anything other than a blow with the rocket - much better than the *istD, which required at least a monthly wet clean.)

Not noticing something at the time is a nightmare, I do it all the time. Especially with macro when you're so concentrating on focusing, it's easy to get too focused on one aspect of the pic. All part of the fun though.

Stunning detail, could probably count the hairs. But if it was so friendly you really should have moved that blade of grass. But yes, it is a handsome spider, looks like it's got a big bushy moustache.

Reminds me of the one time I tried using multiple exposures instead of one long exposure with my *istD. The resultant image had a strange colour cast down one side, which wasn't evident when doing the same exposure in one go.
