I always liked the look of this range, but had mostly stopped doing cards by the time I found them. I used to use WHSmith ones (A6 once folded) and always found those to be fine, but they've doubled in price to £10 for 15.

I picked 'Over 30cms', although it's not quite, but the 25cm option didn't exist.

Where's Daniel when you need him?
Not sure, I missed this.

Anyway, I am far from a bird-watcher, and even further from a coastal bird-watcher, but I thought Cormorant when I saw this. Throat looks a bit whitish.

Could be a juvenile, or just winter plumage I guess.

Seems like I wasn't needed anyway.

I have filters on all my lenses to protect the front element but unscrew them when I take the front cap off to take pictures.
Really? That just seems like a hassle to me. Why not just use the caps, and have the filters in your bag in case you need them?

Reading the manual...Pentax say "use a polarising filter with an auto focus camera for proper exposure and autofocusing."

So would it be better to manual focus and leave off all filters when in use?
I suspect it actually says "use a circular polarising filter with an auto focus camera for proper exposure and autofocusing." Polarisers come in two types, linear and circular. That has nothing to do with their shape, but the way they affect the light. Linear ones can (with some cameras) affect the accuracy of autofocus and metering, circular polarisers should not.

Meh... Looks more like a goose than a flamingo to me. Perhaps the guy will be luckier next time.

Prefer the first - nicer light, better sky, better foreground (IMHO). Second one's nice, but the first is nicer.

Mine too! Ordered it today from my local Pro Dealer, Dave at London Camera Exchange in Colchester. He's a very nice man. A very, very nice man.
