I submit to Alamy and do not apply any sharpening, 'capture' or otherwise, and have never had an image rejected due to sharpness. Note, this is just for the images I supply to them, if I'm printing or showing on the web that's a different matter.

I've found my DA16-45 gives me optimal results at f/9.5 - that's when overall sharpness (not just the centre) peaks, as far as I can tell.

I understood it was 'Smoother' when upsizing, and 'Sharper' when downsizing. Although I nearly always forget and just use Bicubic when going either way.

The DS was the lower model in the range when it came out.

The *istD has 2 wheels on the body and on the grip. One of the reasons I went for it when I got mine, preferred it to the DS.

I use just my B&S head, the tripod has a spirit level built in, so I get this level, then using a hot shoe mounted spirit level I get the camera level too. I can then just rotate the head (it has a seperate pan control, Manfrotto 468, I think ), with the camera and tripod level.

That's fine for shots like these:

...because there's not much in the foreground. If you have more foreground things overlapping the background, a proper pano head would be better, but I've always managed without.

I generally use a 50mm lens with the camera in portrait format. The house above was 5 shots, the others were about 14 or so.

A 'Joybag' sounds more like something that would cost a thrupenny bit.

I really liked your shot, it was my pick of the week, but the thing that wasn't right for me was the roof of the house where the 100yard line cut across - it should have gone straight up the roof, rather than cutting across it diagonally.

But that aside, it was a great idea, and it would have been my winner if I was the judge.

You can order back issues, or there's one online here for you to look through.

"Although Jessops saw a Christmas boost, it said sales in the 14-week period ending 5 January were down 5.6%"

"Jessops said in the five weeks to 5 January, like-for-like sales rose 3.1%, although the company warned that its profit margin had been hit."

They were (are?) apparently selling Canon 450D at below cost price. That's obviously not sustainable.

To answer your second question, here's one. But you'll have to find the answer to your first question to be sure it will fit. From the first paragraph of this, I think it will, but...

Well, it does look odd, but it is a genuine surname: http://www.surnamedb.com/surname.aspx?name=Liquorish
