Can't see the new wife wanting to run the shop on a Saturday so I can go and play without her!
WHAT?!?

So what was the point of marrying her?

You can use the multiple exposure feature to combine several exposures in-camera, so if your metered exposure was 2 seconds at f/8, you could do 8 exposures of quarter of a second each (at f/8 still) to get the required overall exposure.

However, when I tried this with my *istD, I found the resulting image noisy and with a magenta colour cast on one side. Exposure was good though, and it did the misty water thing on the rocks at Lizard Point. Might be worth a try.

I don't think the almost dappled effect in your shot is noise, it's the result of noise reduction. There would have been noise there, but in reducing it, the camera's given you the slightly 'lumpy' look. I doubt very much you'd notice it in a print. You can adjust the strength of the noise reduction in the K20D, but you can't switch it off altogether.

You need to reset the standby time in the menu as the remote doesn't re-activate it.
My K10D is set to 'never go off', yet the wireless remote stops working after a couple of minutes. I haven't been able to stop it doing this, so if I'm using the remote for something I may have to wait for, I'll use the wired one.

Hello Dave,

I drove to Park Cameras to purchase my K20D.

I was unable to buy locally, and as I wanted a good look at the camera before purchase, it meant driving from Essex To West Sussex
You'd have been better off driving to Watford
There's CameraWorld in Chelmsford.... but I guess for Pentax you have to go to the London Branch...
No, they have a selection of Pentax stuff at Chelmsford, including (last week) a K20D, K200D, a 77mm Limited (which was a surprise!), and a few secondhand lenses. Hopefully they might be having a 'Pentax Day' soon.

Cameraworld have them mail order (and in the shops too I think), at £220 including lens, that's brand new.

Only a few left though.

"These are sold for spares or repair - they've got some some mould inside (from storage in high humidity), but my research tells me that this can be relatively easily solved - you just need to open them and clean them."

Just?

Cleaning a fixed focal length, manual focus lens is one thing. Trying to dismantle an AF zoom is quite another, I would think. I'd give it a miss, unless it goes for peanuts and you like a challenge.

The MZ5 and MZ3 are the two body types that operate the same way - that is, they have conventional shutter speed dials. You could interchange using these without so much as blinking.
So are both of these Autofocus models? I know the MZ5m is a manual model
The MZ-5, MZ-3 and MZ-5n are all autofocus, the MZ-M is manual focus.

C1 v4 needs a screen with resolution larger than 1024x768, otherwise you can't see bits down at the bottom. So for me it would mean upgrading my monitor too.

Have to say that's probably the main reason I haven't thought about upgrading from the K10D, apart from being perfectly happy with it, of course.
