hi,
Have just the grip for my K10D - it is a must and allows all four fingers to solidly grip the camera.

Hi jacqui like peter i have the grip on the k10 i have had a couple of dslr's and i always try to buy the grip aswell.I feel it balances the camera in your hand better and gives better grip when shooting vertically cheers

I use a grip on my K200d, it makes the camera feel comfier and adds a second shutter button for vertical use, only downside is you can't preview with the second button(?)
Weight wise the grip + batteries is 250ish grams.

Does the *istD have a front and rear jog wheel or is that just on the grip :

The *istD has 2 wheels on the body and on the grip. One of the reasons I went for it when I got mine, preferred it to the DS.

I wonder why they dropped that very handy feature on the DS : A cost cutting measure I assume :

The DS was the lower model in the range when it came out.

Batterygrip is really a must have in my opinion, I bought one about 3 months ago for my K20D and I really love it.

I find my K10D quite big and heavy enough already. I would be interested to try the grip, but I'm in no rush.

I've put battery grips on both my K10 and K20, as well as my 2 *ist Ds and MZ-Ss. Wouldn't be without them. Adds easy access controls for shooting with the camera held vertically and balance for the heavier lens. Not quite the same as the old ME Winder II which could be used as a carrying handle but worth it.
