I already have them insured through my home insurance but does that cover being mugged
Surely the first thing to do is ask your insurer.

But still it could be a K-mount that they would use for the special lenses and that you need extension to place Normal lenses on the right distance.
Can you imagine the confusion that would cause? Would we have NXDA lenses that would suit the reduced mount-to-sensor distance, but be useless* on K*D cameras? I would strongly suspect (and hope) that it's a new mount.

* I realise these lenses would actually turn into pseudo-macro lenses when mounted on a K*D, but they wouldn't be the most practical option.

Thanks Daniel - good point - I'll bear that in mind. Never thought of using my polariser with my Macro Lens.
Only really useful on a static subject - I wouldn't bother trying it with Jumping Spiders!

Now THIS is a lot more interesting.
K-Mount?
That's more like it! Please, please, please let it be a K-mount!
It can't be, it's too shallow:

"The use of an EVF has allowed Samsung engineers to significantly reduce the size and weight of the new camera system by decreasing the distance between the lens and image sensor (flange back) by approximately 60% compared to traditional DSLRs"

No doubt you'd be able to get adaptors to allow K mount lenses to be used, but they'd obvioulsy increase the distance the lens projects from the front of the camera.

Same as the Nikon P90.
Infact the whole camera is very much the same from the look of it.
It is, isn't it! Had me comparing to make sure this wasn't a hoax, with 'Pentax' pasted on where 'Nikon' should be.

24x digital or optical zoom?
It's optical, the lens clearly says 4.6mm - 110.4mm, which is 24x zoom.

Is that the biggest yet in this class of camera?

Don't think it will be a K mount it will kill off all the DSLR's
You really think so? Can't say that I would buy this instead of a full size DSLR, I like my cameras to have a bit of meat to them.

Do you have Pentax DSLRs in Currys/Dixons/PC World locally?
Yes, the Chelmsford branch of Currys Digital had the K-m and K200D in stock a couple of weeks ago, along with the 50-200mm and a couple of other lenses I think.

If it's sunny (ish) I use a screw on Polariser and leave it on.
Why only when it's sunny(ish)? Depending what you're photographing, it can have a marked effect in all weathers. I often use mine for macro stuff too, great with toadstools, mosses etc.

However, not only do Jessops not stock Pentax now, but neither do the awful Currys/Dixons/PC World chain which accounts for most of what Joe Public ever sees!
The ones round here do, so perhaps it's just in your area for some reason?
