The lack of a hot shoe and the inclusion of a "macro" button makes me think this is more likely to be a bridge camera than an interchangeable lens one. Still, PMA this week so all should be revealed soon enough...

hotshoe irrelevent if it has both p-ttl wireless and manual flash control, or a pc socket and p-ttl wireless...The lack of a hot shoe and the inclusion of a "macro" button makes me think this is more likely to be a bridge camera than an interchangeable lens one. notice the very squared off lcd on the back though....makes a square sensor likely...
fingers crossed for a kmount and high-def video capture...
I'll buy one immediately....
what you don't see is the telltale rocker switch arount the shutter releas of a zoom control if it is a bridge camera.
the macro button may be for image stabilizing, and possibly cropped focussing on the lcd panel for assisting in macro shots...
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

You may be right Don - and I'd love to see a square format sensor!
I just have a hunch this isn't it...

also with every bridge camera having a flip out viewfinder....Pentax would likely have added that in....unless...it needed the space for the kmount...
if those buttons were sourced of a k20, then this thing is tiny, it is smaller than the ds2.

Did you notice the EVF/LCD button - that's what make people think it must be a bridge camera I think.

choosing between viewfinders it is definately an evf camera, but would still be there on an slr....Did you notice the EVF/LCD button - that's what make people think it must be a bridge camera I think.
I'm just thinking that a more rectangular lcd with flip out would make more sense for a bridge camera...
more curious about the smily face button....face detection????? surely that would mean video abilities?
in fact given the location of that button, I'd hope that if you pushed it and held the shutter that the evf (viewing, not zooming the lens) would zoom in on any faces it detects and snap the shutter when the subject smiles! easy for novices to get snaps that way.

Well maybe we'll all know more after the Pre PMA event tomorrow, or on Tuesday when PMA kicks off. But then again, knowing Pentax, maybe we won't.

Looks like something for the "Polaroid Pied Pipers" and "Instamatic Madmen" to me. Nowhere near enough buttons to be a K20D replacement, no shake reduction. It looks small that's a 2.7 inch sq. screen. It could be that it's not a sq. sensor just flips portrait shots through 90deg for viewing.
They certainly would'nt have a smiley face button on a semi-pro camera.

That screen is definitely not square, it is a 4:3 screen like on almost all cameras. The black edge makes it look square.
I'd still rather have the K10 or K20 sensor in a DP1 type body with a 28mm equivalent lens as a pocketable camera.

A Bridge Camera with K mount interchangeable lenses would be an interesting beast.
Best regards, John

yep not only would I buy it, but I'd have to buy some of those tiny pancake lenses to put on it.....A Bridge Camera with K mount interchangeable lenses would be an interesting beast.
I think they look funny on a big slr....

Don't think it will be a K mount it will kill off all the DSLR's, more likely to have a 35-250 zoom fixed lens or something like that, also it has a electronic view finder same as my MINOLTA DIMAGE 7

You really think so? Can't say that I would buy this instead of a full size DSLR, I like my cameras to have a bit of meat to them. Don't think it will be a K mount it will kill off all the DSLR's
Dan
K-3, a macro lens and a DA*300mm...
