Nice pic, Chirpy, but it's not what most people would call a landscape, which is what we were talking about.
Oops, sorry, didn't spot the landscape part of the thread - concentrating too much on the UK weather+overcast bits.

I've removed my OT picture and reposted it in the Your Photo's forum to keep this thread on track:

It looks like a type of scarab or chafer beetle, which are mostly types of dung beetle. We have some very similar in the UK, but I cannot tie it down to an exact species from my books. Maybe it's as Mac says, but such insects are usually very local.

It's a hover-fly, most likely a Drone-fly, but they're often difficult to identify unless you get seriously macro on them and can see the wing veins

Did you use spot focus and then re-compose the shot? It looks like you only just missed the focus point on the fly's eyes, which are usually the best place to focus on to get the rest to fall into place.

I do like the composition especially as it looks like the light wasn't helping you.

I've only got a poor copy of a 1.4x Sigma TC. I have used it with my 1.5x Kenko TC but, TBH, because the 180mm is so sharp I just crop and zoom the photo if I need to get closer.

As an example, this:

is a 100% crop of the original, which resizes to this:

That's a red spider mite at less that 1mm in size, btw, no TC

That last photo from the bridge is very appealing. A pity, in a way, that the lights were on in the building to the right.

I always nearly soil my undergarments when I'm taking macro shots and a hornet flies past. They're so large and seem to have a very determined manner. It's particularly bowel loosening when they appear to zoom off, only to turn around and zoom directly back to you

Oh, I don't like wasps either, can't trust the buggers

That's a nice capture. As Dan says, might benefit from downsizing a little.

Both lenses are in mint condition (as they have never been used)
That seems to sad - though I do realise that to a collector that that is a bonus.

On the K20D in the configuration menu under item 30:

Preview Method:

1 Live View (default)
2 Optical Preview
3 Digital Preview

So, it's the same as the K10D with the addition of Live View which it defaults to.
