After the disater area known as a W 80 I am looking to cheer myself up with some retail therapy. Would welcome advice regarding a waterproof compact, any make or model as long as it`s still a current model. Might consider too using a waterproof case.

Thanks Richard

Apreciate your support, well dissapointed after having sent it back once. Just can`t believe how poor the quality is after Johnsons repair. If I couldn`t get a decent pic after a repair I would not send it back to the customer. I would ask for help from the manufacturer. As for using Johnsons I guess they are not interested in refunding costs, it`s not like dealing with the makers.

Now I`m not wasting much time with this. My W80 came back from Johnsons after having a new lens assembly fitted and being checked to manufacturers specification. The picture quality is worse now than before. This begs me to ask the question are Johnsons up to the repairing and if so surely would not be happy with the image quality after they have carried out a repair? Or question two, can anything be done to something of such low image quality anyway. I shall e mail Pentax and advise them that I will be contacting the local authorities with regards to the sale of goods act. Now if anyone from Pentax is viewing this I would welcome a PM. Of course I expect to wait a long time.

Joe S, that`s what a top tube is for. Couple of old toe straps would do nicely.

Seriously though keeping the COG as low as possible assists with handling so anything tagged on the rider is high up and compromises handling.

Would never advise carrying a backpack on a bike, with especially something solid like a camera in it. If you carry your kit properly on the bike at least it would minimise damage to your body. Bar bag would help with shock protection. Just imagine landing flat on your back with a K7 lumping you in the spine.

I agree with Clarky the K20 is much quieter than the K10. Don`t know about the K7 `cos I don`t have one. yet.

I buy my own cameras, whiskey and both cars for my wife and myself. She has a blue over grey Suzuki Jimny and mine is a Suzuki Splash in Turquoise. Why turquoise? `cos It`s different and it`s got matching turquoise seat panels. I`m too close to being 60 to remembering being 50 but as sure as eggs are eggs I refuse to live in a world of any colour you like as long as it`s black. Hooray for Pentax I say, shame I can`t justify another body.

Going back a long time in Ipswich late 1960`s. There was a lettering error on a catholic church sign depicting times of services etc. The L was missing from PUBLIC SERVICES.

I would have liked the W80 I bought to have worked, but then looking on the internet I guess lots of other folk would like that too. I would settle for a 1.7 converter which would work the SDM.
