I have dug out my ancient BPM bellows unit and with a little care it will fit the K10. I tried the only auto/manual aperture lens I have (Tamron 28-300) just to see how things worked out. I guess I need to obtain something else `cos to get any focus at all the lens was in contact with the subject. I have both 42mm and K mount adaptors and would welcome some advice as to what focal length lens to go for.

thanks

Gwyn, they are wicked! Lens cap with built in lens cleaner. How useful is that and some people think they are dolls Doh.

Now I think that something serious is going on here! Dave has a wood pile for at least two reasons, a. he likes a log fire burning in the hearth especially after a hard days grafting and b. in a few months time he is going to post oodles of insect pix without having to leave home.

I dropped my K20 in the mud last weekend, without a lens on it. I put a 28 - 300 Tamron on it and it scrubbed up fine. MAK and I have been soaked at Bempton K200 and K10 occasionally wiping off the lens. No problems.

Important to dry them out well before bagging.

Nothing wrong with the K20, if you need video buy a separate camcorder. Something like the Samsung K40. Amazing quality for under 200 little gold drinking tokens.

Hi Dan, must confess the reason or the visit was to donate for two for next weeks photography day. I booked a few weeks ago and then promptly forgot to send the cheque. Fell in love with the place though, which was a real bonus. So next Saturday there will be a clutch of Pentax DSLR`s at Hanningfield. Looking forward to another visit, amazing number of Long Tailed Tits.

One of my favourite places is the Suffolk Wildlife Trusts Lackford Lakes site, it`s always very tidy and the folk that work there are superb. I have seen so many varieties of bird, reptile and mammal and as a bonus the flight path for RAF Mildenhall runs to the North of the site.

Today I went to the Essex Wildlife Trusts Hanningfield site, again the staff were great and the whole site is very clean and tidy. I had my introduction to the visitor centre by a very young lady volunteer, I would guess her at early teens. How brilliant, she had a good knowledge of the site, gave good advice and was polite and a good ambasador for the trust. I find the Wildlife sites have a certain something, just look at the things they organise and run. For all ages, the work is endless and I particularly enjoyed the natural history stuff at Hanningfield.

So, why am I putting this on the forum? Well, it`s a public thank you and if you want a good time out in the open look no further than these trust sites. Today I had binoculars a good coat and stout boots and the pictures are in my head. A sort of freedom and escapism I suppose.
