Thanks Mike, I agree with you re the tyres shot. I didn't have much time to wait around and despite the impression the picture gives the paddock was heaving with people and this was the cleanest shot I got in the moment i was there. Like you, I'm drawn to artfully piled tyre shots !

The last guy is Jason Plato, he won the 1st and 3rd race, was leading in the second but had to retire.

I spent an enjoyable day at Silverstone watching the British Touring Cars and support races. Few pictures from the day.

I must confess I'm tempted to get one, not so much for the 70-200 but the 100-300 F4 which is a hefty beast whilst walking around. There would be a lot of strain on the camera mount if you were to let it dangle.

I believe it also fits the Sigma 120-300 2.8, which if you shoot with one of the mounts as well helps to justify spending this extortionate amount. Having searched the internet i couldn't find anything that matches it for these lenses, just need to convince the wife now !

I prefer the shots of Lewis and the Ferrari pit. I would imagine it was hard to shoot with this being an evening / night race.

Very interested, how much was it ? (in excess of £100 I guess)

I have the same sigma and the 100-300 and this would make it a lot easier when carrying them.

Bump, £270 for the pair otherwise it looks like they will be going to E-bay.

Would prefer bank transfer but willing to accept paypal with buyer paying fees.

Thanks for the comments.

So a license would give them the ability to use the pictures on their website, and to promote the event.

As I retain copyright I presume this restricts them from selling the pictures on, ie of individual runners etc who may want a copy.

I have been asked to photograh a large running event this weekend and am currently in discussions over the exact requirements. This will be a paid job.

The initial brief I've been given is...

'the focus would be more on capturing the essence of the event rather than just the runners..... for use on facebook future publicity etc.'

The individual involved has seen the sort of pictures I take as I shoot for Sheffield Hallam parkrun, a free voluntary organisation. Examples can be seen on facebook. link Feel free to check the albums out.

My concerns I have are around the restrictions on use of these photos, retaining copyright.

Any thoughts or questions would be appreciated.

George
