Seven lenses in the next 2 years.

DA 550 .. now were talking
DA 50
DA 18-250
DA 120-380 ... sounds interesting
DA*16-85
DA 22-38 LIMITED
DA 12-28

Very encouraging to see a plan to introduce new lenses, no matter what they are.

Would I buy ?
DA 550 possibly, would prefer a zoom personally
DA 50 no
DA 18-250 possibly - if it's sharper that the current superzoom
DA 120-380 possibly - I have the 60-250 though, so something in the 300-600 region would be more interesting to me, I'd have to look hard at the focal lengths I've used to decide on this one.
DA*16-85 DEFINITELY, 16-50 is too short at long end, would upgrade from my 17-70 which I'm very pleased with
DA 22-38 LIMITED no
DA 12-28 no - I have the 12-24, the extra to 28 would be nice but not spending the £££

TC - YES but only if it transfers the data to the SR, I have the tamron 1.4x. The market needs a pentax TC.

What's missing - off the top of my head a 24/35-135, and/or 24-90.

12-24or28 / 24-90 / 120-380 could be an interesting zoom set depending on your usage.

So a K01 with K mount and an LCD screen

had a brief look at the ephotozine specs and pics

won't entirely discount it until seen one in the hand, but initial conclusion is that it's not for me.

If pentax make a K5+ with something like an electro-reflective permanent mirror, which would reflect with no power and be transparent when power applied - so there's still an optical preview i.e. an SLR with slightly different mirror technology , giving nearly zero delay and virtually silent operation then I might be interested when I have to replace my K5.

A purely electronic tunnel viewfinder is not appealing to me, one which optionally augments available light when its rather dim could be useful however, I prefer WYSIWIG.

Until then nah, more interested in the recent compact with interchangeable lenses or a medium format.

About tethering: Why not pay the Silkypix company some Yen and make it an integrated solution to their raw package. I think it would be cool if they could provide a top raw workflow package with organizing, tethering and Pentaxlens corrections included. They could take it further and integrate it with a forum where users could share "tastes", discuss various topics and share images. Now, that's marketing anno web 2.0

hi, not sure if you mean a ricoh/pentax forum or a silkypix one ?

The silkypix forum one is here : http://www.silkypixforum.com/index.php

Errrm, you can get the cruddy IR ones for a few quid.

Hi dougf8, thanks for the link, any idea if the receiver fits onto the hotshoe, or just dangles out the side of the camera ?

thanks

Try that well-known Guernsey emporium.
Wireless remote, or cable remote, each for under a tenner just a few weeks back - both work fine.
Tried their el-cheepo IR remote - rude word.
That's the way the biscuit breaks!

Thanks geoff, I see :-
cable release : http://www.picstop.co.uk/hama-remote-control-cable-release-ca-3

wireless remote : http://www.picstop.co.uk/accessories/remote/hama-universal-ir-remote-release-min... , but this look no different in principle to the Remote F which I already have ?
are these what you had in mind ?

found this, but can't find anywhere selling them
http://www.aputure.com/en/product/wireless_remote_shutter.php

and this one fits on the hotshoe so can't use a flashgun with it !

Hi folks
I'm looking for a reasonably priced hotshoe to PC sync adapter compatible with K5 (& K10 ideally)

I've found this but never heard of the manufacturer - anyone using one ?

or this

any recommendations ?

Hi folks
could you recommend something(s?) for under the tree please to do two jobs ...
1) a remote for the K5, i have the dinky remote which fits in the K10 battery grip but need something with more range, say 2-4m from the front of the camera
2) a cable release or remote for doing portraits with flash & softbox

thanks
