Automatic AF Microadjustment?

It'd certainly be a neat trick, and a useful thing to have- I can't see any reason why it wouldn't work.
I suppose the risk with this sort of feature however, is someone trying to do it hand held and making an absolute mess of their settings, rather than doing it in a controlled environment on a tripod.

How about this idea for auto-AF adjustment: would it work? 1: The camera autofocuses normally, then switches to liveview and focuses using contrast detect. 2: The difference in AF position between the two is then calculated by the camera and used to work out how much AF adjustment is required for that lens.
Cracking idea. That's two in two days - can I have some of what you're on?

What a good idea but perhaps getting Tungsten focusing to actually work would be better. Just use CDAF ad PDAF doesn't get it often enough.

'Spose there are a lot of other little things Pentax need to address before little extras like 'auto-AF adjustment'. Although to be fair, fixing the big issues (such as tethering) before thinking about implementing non-essential features, isn;t the 'Pentax way'....

About tethering: Why not pay the Silkypix company some Yen and make it an integrated solution to their raw package. I think it would be cool if they could provide a top raw workflow package with organizing, tethering and Pentaxlens corrections included. They could take it further and integrate it with a forum where users could share "tastes", discuss various topics and share images. Now, that's marketing anno web 2.0
First, they would have to swallow their corporate pride and ditch the Pentax Camera Utility but I believe they already did that with regards to the Q, so maybe (hopefully!) Ricoh has brought some good common sense to the table.

How about this, shoot without a card & the image appears on the LCD screen almost immediately. Put in a card & the image doesn't appear until written to the card.
Why not have instant review whilst writing to the card???

Found this elsewhere. Still trying to get my head round it, but if it works as described it looks good.
