I have used a Kiron made Vivitar 100mm f2.8 macro for several years, mainly for flower macro and film duping/"scanning". The Vivitar is a great macro, very sharp and with precise long throw manual focussing. The only downside to it is that it is heavy (656g). The Pentax A100mm 2.8 is much smaller and lighter (470g). Although I have have not had much time to photograph with the Pentax yet, I am impressed with the rendering and the wonderfully smooth focus mechanism.

I have hardly ever seen this for sale, and never in my country. The A100/2.8 macro is in immaculate condition. Somehow the lens passed “under the radar" of our customs officials, making it a very good investment indeed Thank you LennyBloke

A very fine set of images. Number four is my immediate favourite. The FA21 appears to be a great lens.

skydata: I use an iPhone 8 Plus.

Here is an example of a FilmLab scan of slide film from 1966, probably Kodachrome, of myself and my teddy bear For me this is adequately sharp to be able to judge the potential of the film shot. C41 and B&W yield the same kind of quality.

I have used the "FilmLab" app on my iPhone for some years now, and find it very useful as a "pre-scanning" device, both for C41 and B&W negatives. The negatives are placed on top of a basic (but good) Kaiser light table, and scanned/photographed with the FilmLab app. After having found negatives that I am happy with, I often do a proper scan on a film scanner.

Very nice set. I really like the texture and the tones of the images. My immediate favourite is no 2. I guess the "glow around the highlights" characteristic of the film is most prominent in the central part of the third image.

Wonderful tones and compositions in both images. Where did you have your K-5iis IR converted?

I am currently storing my Pentax 35mm film cameras in a bookshelf in their respective Ever Ready Cases. Is there a risk of the cameras and lenses attracting humidity and fungus with such a practice?
