I am selling my Voigtländer Ultron SLII 40mm F2. The lens is in very good condition, and comes with close-up filter and original box. The lens is eminently suitable for Pentax fullframe and APS-C DSLRs and Pentax film cameras. The Ultron is an interesting alternative to the FA 43, and in many ways offers better performance. The Ultron lacks AF, but is characterised by having super smooth manual focus. This is a hard-to-find lens in Pentax PKA mount.

I am looking at £ 425,- plus postage from Norway.

There are other brands that produce ND screw filters in 67mm. When researching this topic myself recently, I came to understand that Hoya Pro ND 1000 and Kenko Real Pro ND 1000 screw in filters are good alternatives to the Lee Elements Big Stopper. B + W and Heliopan also produce good 10 stop screw in filters. I have no idea how thick the filter rings are on any of these brands’ ND filters, but I would guess that they are thinner than the Elements Big Stopper.

Then there are all the Chinese filter brands, NISI, Haida, etc, that I unfortunately know very little about, but many are probably equally good compared to the European brands.

I had the SMC Pentax (last version) 67 300mm lens and used it with both 120 film and with an adapter on the Pentax K-5. The lens is known as a weak performer in the Pentax 67 system, part of the problem is lack of tripod support and shutter shake. Optically the lens is okay. On the K-5 the 67 300 produced acceptable results, but when compared to my FA 300/4.5 it was clearly inferior, both in terms of sharpness, contrast and colour reproduction. The 67 300 is also very heavy to carry around. I sold mine some years ago. The updated 67 300 EDIF is in another league though, a highly sought after lens amongst Pentax 67 users, and probably a superb performer also on DSLRs.

I have a Ricoh GRII that I use quite a lot. Wonderful camera with a superb lens and sensor.

Ha ha… I was holding a Pentax SLR in one hand and the soft shutter release in the other hand, without understanding how it should be used… I thought the soft shutter release somehow should be attached to one of the shutter release cables that were part of my purchase.

Thank you John Riley!
