I just saw this using that horrible great website that lists new sales

Yes, it's a top deal for a pretty rare lens. Go for it LennyBloke, you know you want to.

Would do if I hadn't already got one

Beautiful lens if not a tad pricey, however, they are increasingly hard to find especially in tip-top condition like this so on balance perhaps good value for someone in the market for one of these.

What I like about Vintage Classic is that I've always found their descriptions very accurate. They appear to take a pride in their sales.

I won't be buying because I too already have a lovely copy.

What you need are lenses, more lenses, bigger lenses, better lenses, faster lenses, vintage lenses and when you have these, your pictures will be perfect!

I have hardly ever seen this for sale, and never in my country. The A100/2.8 macro is in immaculate condition. Somehow the lens passed “under the radar" of our customs officials, making it a very good investment indeed Thank you LennyBloke

I have used a Kiron made Vivitar 100mm f2.8 macro for several years, mainly for flower macro and film duping/"scanning". The Vivitar is a great macro, very sharp and with precise long throw manual focussing. The only downside to it is that it is heavy (656g). The Pentax A100mm 2.8 is much smaller and lighter (470g). Although I have have not had much time to photograph with the Pentax yet, I am impressed with the rendering and the wonderfully smooth focus mechanism.
