I have a Super-Takamur 50mm f/1.4 fitted on a Spotmatic that was recently given to me. The lens glass is in fine condition, but there seems to be small specs of dust inside the lens. Is this a "normal" phenomenon with the old Super-Takamur lenses? Is it possible to repair the lens?

How can I check if my lens is affected by Thorium pollution/yellowing?

I contacted a Pentax service workshop here in Norway with my problem. His response was that the switch for the back lid is defective and needs to be changed. It lies behind the main circuitboard, so it will be quite expensive to repair, about the equivilant of GBP 110,- I really enjoyed this little camera, but it does not seem sensible to go through with such an expensive repair...

Last week I took my Pentax Espio 928 out of the closet where it has been lying for about ten years, to a camera shop to buy a new battery and film. When the film was inserted the 928 display showed 0 and 1 randomly. And when I took a picture the winder motor was very active, and obviously something was wrong. The owner of the camerashop examined the camera, and found out the winder had pulled out more than half the film. The same thing happened several times when I tried to insert a film at home.

The 928 is in mint condition, and functioned flawlessly for many years before I put it away about ten years ago. There are no error messages in the display, and everything seems to be 100%, except for the winder system. Is there a DIY fix for my problem, or is the 928 dead?
