I am planning to attempt photography of the lunar eclipse this evening, and doing some research into camera settings.

When photographing the Northern Lights I most often shoot at ISO 1600 on the K-5iis, which results in rather noise free images. So ISO 1600 will be my point if departure.

I am going to use either a 300mm lens or a 400mm lens on the K-5iis and am wondering if there is a way to calculate minimum shutter speed in order to prevent motion blur?

Secondly I am wondering what aperture to use. My FA* 300/4.5 is very sharp wide open, but maybe it is best to shoot at f5.6 or even f8?

Here in Norway the moon is visible from about 2220 pm, and is then already at its most eclipsed state (I am sorry is this is non ideomatic English...). I usually use live-view for moon shots, will live-view be possible on the dark blood moon?

I am grateful for any advice on this matter!

A follow up on paint markers: Micro-tools sell a matte/flat black paint marker pen that seems very suitable for touch up jobs on cameras.

Thank you David! I have found a shop in town that has Humbrol matte black in stock, so I will probably buy it tomorrow.

After having googled Edding paint marker, I have only found a model called Edding paint marker 750. This model comes in two colours: glossy black and glossy white, so not so suitable for the inside of a camera door.

Depending on the size of area of the missing paint, I’ve had a lot of success touching up vintage lenses using Edding (brand) paint markers. Dries quickly to a hard finish.
Thank you Rick! The Edding paint marker seems like a viable option, I have seen these markers in shops here in Norway. (The size of the affected area is small)

The vendor I purchased the light seal kit from suggested using Krylon semi-flat spray paint #1613, a product which is impossible to source in Norway. It seems that the Krylon #1613 has also recently changed chemical formula, making it more glossy and possibly problematic for my intended use.

I have also though about using Humbrol enamel paint, that is easily found here. But I believe I will first of all try to find an Edding paint marker in a suitable colour (matte/non-reflective black).

I am in the process of changing the light seals on my Pentax MX. The very difficult mirror box is successfully finished, and the rest of the camera is cleaned waiting for new seals to be installed.

When removing the old seals from the inside of the film door, I ended up with removing some of the paint. Does anybody have any suggestions about which kind of paint that can be used to touch up the inside of the door?

I am grateful for advice on this matter!
