I bought a Minolta Scan Dual for £65 with scsi card, running it on an old PC with windows XP. You get about an 8Mp image,

Just ordered some Formapan 400 and 100 to try, one roll of 35mm and 4 of 120, someone is lending me a Pentax 67 to play with

Its funny the prints I did (optical enlargements) have much more punch and contrast, I'll bung one under the flatbed scanner at work tomorrow and see if I can post it up.

Andrew, buy a spotty and some film, they are great fun to use, I've seen developing tanks go for under a fiver on ebay and chemicals are not expensive, my enlarger was given to me from another forum and I had offers of others from other members, plenty of free and seriously cheap film stuff out there.

I don;t mind at all Andrew, if the unmolested pic was that precious I wouldn't be posting it on a forum! I had a little pay before checking back after reading Gareth's comment and thinking 'yes they do look a little grey and washed out' and did these, your thoughts?

Yep, still using film, I bought into the digital thing (could never afford to process enough as a kid to get the hang of it) to rattle off a lot of pics and learn, then found my machinegunning technique left me with a LOT of pics to PP, so I bought a Pentax Spotmatic F to slow me down a bit. then an ESII (the lovely spot is in the classifieds if anyone wants a clean reliable 35mm) because it looked cool and I found the spot very tricky for low light stuff. I'm now amassing a range of nice lenses for it SMC 28,35,50,105,135,200mm so far!

The Adox is not bad, its cheap enough for certain, very succeptable to fogging, I loaded it on the spiral just in the darkroom, no changin bag and I have the tinyest light leak around the door, this was enough to fog the centre of the film while loading, but not that much. it develops very nicely though, I will probably use it again (well I have a roll of iso25 in the camera now), supposed to be a very soft/delicate emulsion but I managed not to damage it and its only the second film I've dev'd.

But yet I have set myself up to develop enlarge/print and scan myself, the whole lot has cost me less than £100 including a minolta proper 35mm slide/neg scanner, which those top ones are straight out of the scanner.

Very tidy and fully working Pentax Spotmatic F for sale, includes:

Tidy SpotF body in full working order, couple of dust specs in the view finder, some rub marks on the corners and a dent to the base shown in the second pic, still a very clean and tidy camera, light seals are good and light meter works etc comes with the case and manual as shown £35

Super Takumar 35mm f3.5 lens, snappy iris, clean optics and cosmetically very good. £35

SMC Takumar 50mm F1.4 lens, snappy iris and clean optics cosmetically very good, with hama skylight filter. £70

Would rather sell as a bundle but may split.

I've got a couple of rolls of the ADOX CHS (25 and 100) to play with, I'll let you know how they go, but they are supposed to be VERY fine grain. They are available in 120 format and not too expensive.

I have a roll of HP5+ which I will hopefully get developed today.

I like the results you've got from the BW400C. I tried the Fuji equivalent recently and was pretty disappointed with how they turned out - very gritty and poor contrast. Might have to give that Kodak a spin instead.

The scanner looks to have done a very good job too. I'd like a dedicated film scanner but most of the film I shoot is 120 and dedicated MF scanners cost £££'s so I'll stick to my flatbed until my Lotto numbers come up...

Which lens(es) were these btw?
I'm guessing but the colour pics could be the SMC 50mm f1.4 and I think the B&W super tak 35mm f3.5.

Bought a 'new' scanner, old Minolta Dimage Scan Dual, seems to be doing an admirable job for its age, older negs don't half attract dust mind!
Get yourself some PEC fluid and pads. It is costly but goes a very long way and well worth the time saved dust-spotting images.

I really like the Kodak film although it pays to "over expose" it a little. I usually set my ASA dial to 320...

Sadly, Kodak have discontinued this film in medium format. I got the last roll at Adorama and 7dayshop couldn't get me any.

K.
Will give the pec fluid a go, should be good for sensor cleaning on my canon too, this was my first play with the new scanner so I just wanted to see some pics I think the two B&W were erring on the side of overexposure with the needle, it was my first film shooting in a LONG time.
