Any interest or offers before I turn them over to ebay?

ESII has a battery check button next to the ASA/ISO rewind knob (needle should sit at the midpoint if batteries are ok), the old spotmatics were the ones you set to 'B' to check the battery level.

needle rising at the half press does sound like a fault to me, as if some capacitor in circuit is charging/discharging on the button push.

Pending sight of some monies from sorted78!

I didn't want to sell these as they took a while to find in such tidy condition. But I want a nice longer zoom for my Canon (consolidating all my camera gear to one type, Canon EF) so needs must.

Pentax ESII with SMC Takumar 50mm f1.4 lens, (last of the M42 mount spotmatics and superb normal length prime). This is fully working, very accurate and has absolute minimal brassing marks on the corners (I'd call it excellent, not mint). Comes with a case although not original it does fit ok, rubber eye cup and strap. The lens is very clean and tidy (I've had 3 of these this is the best I kept) has a pentax skylight filter and yellow and orange filters of B&W. It comes with original (pretty metal) lens cap and a couple of spares from later lenses.

I'd like to sell as a bundle, but I am prepared to split so:

Camera with case and eyecup £65
SMC 50mm f1.4 lens with skylight filter (no case or rear cap) £85
orange and yellow filters £15

or £140 for the lot above and I'll throw in some b&w films too

The lenses. All are the SMC type with linkage for open aperture metering on the ESII (or a spotmatic F) and are in excellent condition IMHO, clean clear optics and nice smooth focusing rings with fast snappy iris blades.

SMC takumar 28mm f3.5 lens and hood. Very clean and tidy lens, the case is a little worn but a bit of black boot polish it would come up a treat. The hood is in great condition with only a couple of tiny surface blemishes to the paint, the case is very tidy too.

£60 with the hood

SMC Takumar 35mm f3.5 lens. Very clean and tidy, the case is from a non-SMC version so lined in green but it fits fine.

£50

SMC Takumar 105mm f2.8. Very clean and tidy again, makes a lovely portrait lens. The case is in excellent condition but the lens is missing the hood, its the same 49mm thread as the 135mm which is readily available (the correct hoods for these come up fairly often on ebay) and I found no noticable vignetting using the hood from the 135.

£55

SMC Takumar 135mm f3.5. very tidy lens again, with correct hood in good condition, the lens case is a little tatty but good and solid still.

£45

SMC Takumar 200mm f4. clean and tidy with hood, pentax skylight filter and case in great condition.

£55

I will consider near offers (although I think my prices are pretty keen considering condition), discounts on multiple items or the whole lot and trades for other kit (I'm looking for a canon 70-200 f4L, or possibly a sigma 12-24 in canon EF fitment). I'll happily provide more pics of anything your interested in, this is all in VERY good condition though.

just regular stop and fix, the cafenol replaces the developer, I made a weak mix (didn't have much coffee) so that was in for 7 or 10 minutes (just kept fishing it out for a look until it didn't seem to be darkening any more). There is plenty of info on the web but most seems to say you need to measure very precisely and it only works as a film developer, that was mixed VERY roughly and done on paper not film.

very nice and reading down I agreed that it would suit a square crop...

then saw the square crop and changed my mind, I prefer the original. very sharp and lovely colours though.

Pentax ESII and 50mm again, this time very old Fuji Primo 100 film (Expired in the 91). The film was developed normally but the print developed in Cafenol a mix of instant coffee and washing soda, thought it suited the subject:

Took these for an exhibition at uni, all photos for the exhibition were taken through the Pentax SMC super takumar 50mm F1.4, everyone used their own cameras though. Anyway, I though this merc looked about the same vintage as the camera (ESII)and lens. I used Rollei Retro 100 film and developed in Paterson Aculux, these are scans from the 12X15" ish prints on Kentmere lustre paper.

I went with std, and a stop over exposed, we will see

TBH I'm surprised the ESII would do an exposure that long anyway. I had no idea the exposure would be that long (due to lack of thought) I was aiming for about 30sec to a minute.

Spot F IMHO, just sold mine as its not getting the use it should because I have an ESII and I just like the ESII better, the Auto mode if very handy for longer exposure stuff at night (when you can't read the meter). I have some some long exposure stuff on the film in there (5-10min exposures) so I should soon see how accurate the metering is on the real dark stuff .

The open aperture metering is a real bonus though IMHO, makes operation that little bit slicker. I will agree though they look better without the flash hotshoe, I was looking to swap out the upper case on my F for this very reason (its called being a tart) but decided it would be happier left alone with a new home.

Only problem I have had is the silvering on the back of the prism de-laminating, you get a ragged dark line in the lower 3rd of the view finder than doesn't affect the pictures. If you can find a new prism they are fiddly but not THAT hard to replace.
