just regular stop and fix, the cafenol replaces the developer, I made a weak mix (didn't have much coffee) so that was in for 7 or 10 minutes (just kept fishing it out for a look until it didn't seem to be darkening any more). There is plenty of info on the web but most seems to say you need to measure very precisely and it only works as a film developer, that was mixed VERY roughly and done on paper not film.

I like the way this has turned out. I did some tea and coffee toning a good few years ago but I can see it's time to fish out the Kenco, Nescafe or Mellow Birds once again...

Mellow Birds! Can you still buy that. And can it legally be called coffee?

Yes, still available but I haven't tasted it for more than 25 years, still called coffee but I do know what you mean....
Twinings now do coffee, trying the Intense strength 5 at the moment...Not bad... I wonder how that will look with film and paper...

It is an illusion that photos are made with the camera… they are made with the eye, heart and head. Henri Cartier-Bresson
Lots of film bodies, a couple of digital ones, too many lenses (mainly older glass) and a Horseman LE 5x4.

I did this in college... developed with coffee and vitamin c and used vinegar as a stop bath...... I think it was boric acid for a fixer.. anyhoo... if you really want to save the environment, you need to set up your own silver recovery system.... mine was using electrolysis to silver plate a paper clip..... (don't waste your time recovering silver from a single roll though, I had a darkroom at home and saved up a gallon or so before bringing it to school and hooking it up to a battery charger...with a paper clip.)
I got an "A"+++ on my film chemistry and developing exam!
Nice photo btw...

Great idea and processing. I wonder if pouring coffee into the computer would help my post processing technique.
