I had no problems with the Pentax RAW (PEF) from the K10D in lightroom 1 & 2
There aren't to my knowledge diferent versions of the PEF format so PEF from K200D should work with it. It seems there was a problem that it didn't supported the K200D and K20D when it was just new link Shouldn't be a problem any more

This their website link

From 3 to 5 march 2009 they are having a show in Las Vegas.
The K10D was anouneced in November and the K20D in January.
1.5 years was the time the K10D was here and the K20D isn't a year old yet so I believe we shouldn't get any news about a "K30D" before next years winter.
I'm still a bit lost why they didn't introduce their new camera on a big fair, or did they?

All I'm focus on now are the (hopefully) splendid new lenses coming up

Hi Langtoun-Wullie, welcome.
This program is free and is able to read all the Exif data in a file link.
I believe most photo-editing programs have the option to imprint them on your photo, if you wish to do that.

And we don't want that to happen, right? Would be a shame if Pentax got scr*w*d by some DA lenses and would lose it.
I'll guess you meant vignetting.
But of course I could be seeing things also

Martin.
Yep Martin you're right, don't know what I was thinking

There has been to much invested in the development of DA lenses, to start up a new line of FF lenses. Even Nikon and Canon are forced to rebuild their FF lens line, because a lot of their pre digital glass wasn't up to match the newest high resolution sensors. So Pentax better invest in expanding their DA glass. I don't think they can afford otherwise.
I've the same thought here too but going from an 1.5 crop (APS-C) to an 1.3 crop (APS-H) should be survivable for most DA lenses and if not it would be nice as the nikon that you can crop the sensor. A 14.6mp APS-H would be a 12.6mp APS-C so the difference isn't that much, atleast i'm willing to pay that.

If Pentax want a pro camera it's more likely they come with a 645 than a FF I believe

Stefan.

It's just a rumor that the K30D would have an APS-H 14.6mp CMOS Sensor with a 1.3x crop, but it's interesting one. They are cheaper than Full-Frame cameras but perform better than the APS-C cameras. The Canon EOS-1D Mark III & Mark II are the only one with an APS-H sensor so it isn’t really a crowded market and if they can bring it out for the same price as the K20D did they would have a unique position.
My only concern is how the DA lenses will perform on it? Some DA work quite well on full-frame but others are useless because of virginity link.
It’s quite interesting to see that the newer lenses DA 35mm Ltd, DA 55-300mm, DA* 200mm & DA* 300mm should be able to work on it. Maybe I’m seeing things now

It’s like I said a rumor but what are your thoughts about an APS-H sensor, would it work for pentax?

- All the primes Offertonhatter have listed and for the same reasons, they are just superb.
- DA* 50-135 F2.4 to get some flexibility when I don't want or can change lenses, this one would do a fine job for that.
- DA* 55mm F1.4 my hopes are high for this one.
- DA 15mm F? limited who doesn't want to have a limited.
- D-FA 100mm F2.4 macro one of my favorite of the lenses I've now, lightweight and very sharp.

Is there some news about the F-number of the DA 15 ltd & DA* 30?
If the DA* 30 is going to be just as fast or faster as the FA 31 ltd for £300 less I might be tempted.

The Samsung SEF-54PZF seems to be the same as the Pentax AF 540FGZ link.
If you like to have a Pentax AF540 and don't mind it says Samsung on the badge instead of Pentax this would be a good deal for £181.

Cheers for the comments Anvh.

Initially I was going to submit one with a much narrower DOF (f3.5) where only the big quartz and the "crown" of pearls were sharp, and the rest was much more fuzzy, but I wimped out and used this less severe one.

Maybe I should have gone the whole way to the other end and got more of it sharp like you say, but I was still trying to keep the emphasis on the two main features of the necklace.

Not sure whether it's worked or not though.....
Glad I could give some Haworth.

Sorry to say this but I didn't notice the focus to give you the truth, I love the idea though.
It might have been better on the other photo with the narrower DOF or you could have use some light to lay the focus on them.
Just some ideas I'm no expert at all and I'm sure someone would have some better tips for you.

I'm struggling myself now too. I've a shot that I like but the brand name isn't readeable in the shot because it is to dark but if I make it brighter I kill the air in it. I'm now trying if a HDR image would do the trick.

If people only would do some research for theirself and not look at the bodies alone but also at the lenses that they are probable going to buy.
They won't even hold a Pentax I believe if no one would suggest it to them. Alot of starters don't even look for another system then the one their uncle or friend has, if they have it it must be good right

It would be a very good stunt for a sales man to wash a Pentax under the tap before giving it to the customer to try it, that might convince some

Nice shots Haworth and GlynM!

Haworth's shot is really nice to look at and is very clean. I think it would have been a bit better with a wider DOF so that the stones and the book in the background would would have been sharper.

GlynM your piece is put to gether nicely and I like your shot from the spider but why didn't you edited the lensdop out of it? It doesn't seem it's on the K10D now but I think that was your intention.

It's time I upload one too soon, it's very easy to give comments
Stefan.
