My wide adapter recently fell off my motorbike while attached to the camera shooting video, which was in retrospect not a very good idea...

I'm looking for a replacement if anyone is selling one.

I was recently approached by Ricoh to use one of my images for marketing purposes. They weren't prepared to pay me anything, so they didn't get the image. If they are only going to use images they get for free for advertising the capabilities of their equipment, it's hardly surprising that the images we see from them on social media are often not very good. If they want their cameras to be seen as professional products, they should not be relying on the generosity/naivety of amateurs to promote their products.

Lightroom

The K5 is superb for IR. I don't see any reason why the k5iis wouldn't be as good; it probably performs worse than some cameras without conversion because the IR filter in front of the sensor is stronger. A conversion removes this filter and replaces it with one that blocks some of the visible spectrum. However, I've not seen pics from a converted k5iis.

Cameras with Live View are better candidates for conversion imo because you can use AF as LV uses contrast detection rather than phase detection AF. . I've had both an *istDL and a k20D converted, and while they are both great IR cameras, LV adds more flexibility, ie it's easy to use zooms as you can use AF. It's also easier to use manual focus in Live View as you see what's on the sensor.. I now have an unmentionable other brand IR camera, as I wanted an EVF; screens can be difficult to see in bright sunlight, which is when you will most use the camera.

Converted cameras provide sharper images than they did as normal cameras, so I don't see the lack of an AA filter as any advantage at all.

A vast amount of lenses produce hot-spots when stopped down, so relying on small apertures to increase DOF is not a viable option unless you choose your lenses very carefully.

Of the cameras you mentioned, I'd say the k7 or the K5 would be the best candidate.


Edit: I have just seen that Spencers a reputable company for IR conversions (my current IR camera was bought from them) offer conversions on the K5iis, so it evidently is suitable for conversion as they don't offer conversions on cameras that are unsuitable.

+1 for the Optech straps, I also have a wrist strap which clips in in place of the sling strap and which I use a lot.

The GR is an incredible camera, it's the most photographer-centric camera I've ever used, incredibly well-designed, small, plus it takes fantastic images. I don't think there's another camera that comes anywhere near it for what it is, ie a fixed focus, incredibly well designed and highly capable bit of kit that's small enough to go in your pocket.

I'm using Sony e-mount, so can't recommend anything for 4/3rds. I've had a cheap PK/Nex adapter for a few years, which allows four different aperture selections on lenses where you can't set the aperture on the lens, and it works very well on my Sony A7s; I'd initially thought of getting a more expensive adapter, but it's turned out not to be necessary. I did however buy a Voigtlander adapter for using Leica fit lenses on the A7s, and it's quite an impressive device.

I think the choice you have is more realistically between the K5IIs and the K3; there's not much point in the K5II, as if you are considering it for it's AA filter, the the K3 is the more obvious choice. Then it's down to low-light; if you want to shoot regularly at ISO 3200 or above, the K5IIs is the main contender.

I'm now doing so regularly.......and without an EVF I'd have to use the screen.
