I use DXO a lot (v10) but it is missing a few features that Lightroom has; the one I wold like to see most of all is the grad filters. I would also like to be able to import files into DXO from LR with some adjustments, but it just imports the out-of-camera RAW file. For noise reduction, it works very well on Pentax DNG files, better than LR.

I often find I can adjust the WB better in LR, so re-import edited DNG files back into LR for further tweaks.

Imo, LR is a stand-alone solution, whereas DXO needs to be used in conjunction with another program to get the best from it. It's a great program nonetheless.

I find it odd that everyone wants the latest tech in new cameras, but when it come's to EVF's, many seem to turn into Luddites, preferring to stick with technology a century old.

Apart from the obvious advantages in low-light, an EVF gives you a real-time view of what the sensor is going to capture. Issues with flare are seen before you shoot, there's no need for stop-down metering with older lenses, making manual shooting a breeze, there's focus-peaking and image magnification to assist manual focusing, a live histogram, and with cameras with IBIS, the advantage of the image seen through the viewfinder being stabilised. Plus there's zebra for video shooting.

Apart from all that there's no advantage at all over OVF's.....

If he had to stand in the shade to see through the EVF he wasn't using it properly. ...I use two cameras with EVF's and have never had the slightest problem, and I live in one of the brightest parts of the world.

A very impressive set! The GR is till my most used camera, and will probably remain so for a long time to come. As you have shown here, it's a very capable little camera. The lens is superb, even wide open, and the wide converter is far better than a bit of glass screwed onto the end of a lens has any right to be, outperforming the 15mm Ltd imo.

I would think it would make sense to keep it branded as a Ricoh, they've built up a pretty hard-core following over the last few years, as a search on Flickr will show.

Cokin sell a filter holder for ultra-wide lenses, I've used mine on the Sigma 10-20mm with no problems.

No, it certainly doesn't, it just alienates amateurs as well as professionals. In fact, that statement is somewhat contradicted by their offer of giving me a credit as sole payment for use of my image.

If they want to succeed I think they need to address their PR.

On a similar note, the terms and conditions of their MyPentax gallery don't encourage anyone to upload their best shots:
