the cassette. Rollei TLR cameras have an optional glass plate back, where the film is pressed flat against a glass surface.

Film photography is not without its problems. Dust and scratches you are already aware of!

It was my first trial to scan the negatives. I thought it is a MUST to press the film betbeen glasses to make it flat.
Now, before scaning enything I will ask, how they do it. As its not cheap.

But I have started to look at my negatives and old paperprints with totally different view. The quality really gets lost.

One of the reasons to scan some negatives, was the fact of having scratches there. My aim was to get rid of these. So I could make a new paperprint....

I have never dared to look up how much is a slide/negative scanner.
JR, can you give some links, which ones might be nice qualiti as well as not a fortune ?

I let couple of old negatives to be scanned. And I surprisingly was not so pleased with the result. Looking close (cloning out the scratches) I found out that the pic was not totally in focus. I could see nicely some parts of the pic ok and some little bit out of focus. It gave me thought, that they couldnt get my film stright (as if it was "in waves")

? ? ?

[quote:3496ace15f="shimI'm that used to birds coming looking around a nest box in my garden and then deciding that it's not quite right for them and flying off into the blue-yonder never to be seen again. I'll have to move it to another location, it's never been used in 3 years.

shim[/quote]If they can, they usually prefer some natural place, I guess.
It is quite a "science" how large is the hole, how far the hole is from bottom, how peaceful are the surroundings etc. I luckily do have the old trees - that still carry some apples too But I see for the first time the birds living there.
BTW, have you cleaned the nest box??? You should, I think.

Thanks for everybody for nice words.
There are so many "bird photographers" in the forum, that I feel quite in childīs boots.

If there is sth "in your way" (fence - as you said), may be its possible to "use" it. This fence can carry a msg. Longing for a freedom etc

I would turn it BW.
The background colours catch too much attention for me.

that's what you call a birdhouse, did they stay or were they just looking round for somewhere to live?

It is an old tree that is empty inside.
The birds are making a nest really. Look, the first pic. It is carrying a bunch of stuff for nest. The branches were on its way a bit, had to struggle bit, before got inside with its treasure
Mostly it carried moss. But then the birds were too fast - this exp time was too slow!

I still wonder how they cope with ants. Because ants think the tree to be theis home as well Or maybe birds take it as a lunch served

I feel sad, that the end of the tail went out of the pic

Thanks.
I learn sth in every day as well

I tried to make a close crop too, but I left the "orange" in center. It didnt work. The blossom was lost.
It works the way you did it !

I tried desaturating the rest of the pic (before the comp). But I didnt have a heart to let the lilac blue to disappear. Despite of not so orange result

Looking the colors of Davidtrout !!!mmmmm

Hang on a minute, what's going on here?! When it's night I wait almost two weeks for three entries, and when it's fruit three appear in less than 36 hours!
Nights seem to be shorter and buzy

Actually, spring making first fine steps in Estonia at last. I have so much to do in daytime (no time for camera) so that yesterday I made at last my first night shots with my tripod.
If my "being late" continues in the same rate, I will post my Fruit pic in autumn
