It may be nice surface...but...
as a photo - no composition. Even an abstract needs a composition.
Find some shapes there, rise the contrast, go close, add even color....whatever.

Hefty,
I start to think that I am a specialist on sparrows.
If you only knew, that I do have a pic of a BATMAN Sparrow as well !
I have not posted it, as it has contra light....not so good.

Pauly,
Thought so for some reason.
Wish I could see, what YOU picked up on that place.

hmm
there is sth that is not so perfect as on most of your photos.
Light, ok ...texture ok...
I do not know!
Sth about the sky and the proportions it takes.
Too much of the sky ? I guess you wanted to give some space upwards. sensible. Its just a bit too much ?

I usually do not like totally white on my pic. Avoid it.
But here....it has got its purpose in a way.

I am disturbed by the white background line behind (below) the uper left(corner) ball.....if you understand.

Sharpness? yes, nice.

I guess it is very difficult to find a nice frame for it.....

You take it seriously, Paul !

As you know already, I do not calibrate

I feel bit shame for that
I will make the theme actual at home......

But I am surprised to see te result of the poll at the moment !! So many do not !!!

Thanks Paul,
I have been thinking of it.
I have postponed the calibration to the moment when I realize that my skills and needs have made a step forward.
Until that moment it has seemed that my screen is almost ok. When I need to make some prints, I do a small one at first, then make corrections etc.

I will show the link to my husband, he is the master of the computer in our family..... Thanks for it !
I AM lazy for looking up such sites myself. Also I cant be sure about the quality of the sites that I find myself - without knowing anything about these. A bit afraid doing the things worse.

As to the sparrows, I think it needs other PP: making darker regions lighter. But not the whole pic. Just a bit.

They have just found a wet place for kissing, you see the fountaine.

The pic is unluckily not good. The sky is disaster. The background...
Once more I had to give up, not finding a good way to get it on the pic.
I still wanted to share it, as the satue bacame one of the symbols of Tartu as soon as it was put there. Its just front of the Town Hall, on the main square of town.

One of the most, if not THE most, important things to do when processing images is to calibrate your screen, beit CRT or LCD.
If you are going to do any type of editing you MUST calibrate it. I check mine every week and also if I have a lot of work to do I will check it again.

Paul
I do not sell my pics, its just my hobby.
I do not much PP either.(these pics are just resized)
I even do not know how can I calibrate my screen.
You check the screen every week ? I do not PP even every week.
And some weeks pass without pics as well
At the moment I just have a two week vacation, thats why more pics coming. And I have time to take my camera to an outdoor caffee for a cake

It may not be an excuse in your eyes.
Give me an example: take the photo, do the PP-ing to show me how it should look.
If it makes much difference, then maybe I start looking for calibrating possibilities.
Still, I am looking at other photos in the forum as well. And these do not seem overexposured for me....maybe it is too little difference for my eye then?

I am ready to learn.
