Looks like you were enjoying yourself there Gareth.

Some of those icicles look like nostril discharge from a stone creature.

May never get the chance to take those images again...you made good of the opportunity.

Thanks Roger.

No12 is the one shot that is not a leaf (i took out the word "mainly" in my first attempt at a title). Forgot to mention there was an apple shot in there as well!

Picked a few leaves out of a large pile I was sweeping up yesterday...thought they might image well against either a silver or gold background (cardboard, foil covered cake rest). All placed on a windowsill to benefit from external light as well as internal overhead lighting.

All using K-50 / DA FA 100 f2.8 macro WR. Some are straight JPEG with no PP, most have had a few tweaks, one or two more extreme 'cuurve' treatment.

Its on 'Clearance' apparently although they quote 5-7 days delivery.

Best price i've seen this camera at for quite a while.

See the link HERE on photorumors.

Highlight has got to be a new HD 70-200 f4 for spring 2019! Finally it seems someone at Ricoh may be listening after all.

A great idea in principle but I can't see many K-1 owners prepared to pay £450 to upgrade. If the price to upgrade was £250 then it would probably appeal to some...especially if you had bought recently at the deeply discounted price around Black Friday/Mon...but otherwise taking into account the money you had lost on depreciation already this upgrade would seem very poor value.

Great price...a really smart move keeping the price the same for a bit extra.

£799 until tomorrow if anyone interested.

If this newer model turns out, as likely to be, merely a tweaked version of the K-1, their marketing department would have been better off reducing expectations by adding a '+' or 'Super' suffix to the nomenclature...K-1Plus or K-1Super...a bit like they did a decade ago with the earlier models...just being a bit more honest with customers would reduce the volume of negative feedback they are likely to create otherwise.

The other aspect of this which hasn't yet been revealed is the new price. If they are only going to charge an extra £100 then probably acceptabe to many potential customers but if they bring in a ticket price £300 more then people won't buy it and they will be forced to discount it sooner rather than later but at a cost of much goodwill, the loss of which the company can ill afford.
