Great shots from a bygone era.

The Russian Aeroflot airliner is a Tupolev TU-104 and the cargo plane is a BEA Argosy
made by Armstrong Whitworth. Also an Iberia Caravelle (made in France) and the lovely Vickers Viscount (Cambrian and BEA) was widely used in those days. Also seems to be a Vickers Vanguard and a Britannia or two.

Looks like a T-Tailed aircraft flying from left to right and nose pointing slightly up as seen in picture. Maybe a 146 or C17 cargo lifter something of that general appearance.

The Space Station appears as a very bright light moving reasonably fast and in a fixed arc..very impressive when you see it. I believe you can also see the Chinese equivalent from the ground as well although not as bright.

If Pentax organising it then couldn't they come up with a decent 'reward' like a £20-£25 voucher off Pentax equipment? After freely giving my thoughts and opinions for over 20 years helping other companies make money I only do paid surveys now.

I'm an 'old timer' too...still use imperial for everything except currency which I have to agree is far more logical than using bases of 12 and 20. (plus you don't have a choice in this !). I can convert to metric from imperial but using imperial means more to my brain and more quickly. When I see metric I only end up converting it mentally to imperial and then using that info....might just as well cut out the middleman!

So, it should come as no surprise that i find the whole '35mm equivalent thing' very logical and useful...its a common standard in a constantly changing world.

Aye, they are really good prices. The retailers can only offer those prices if they are getting promotional support off Pentax USA..there's no way they would cut their throats just to shift boxes.

Begs the question why Pentax UK are not supporting their retailers to a similar extent over here. Even allowing for differences in taxation, customers over there are getting some stupendous deals.

Some examples just from one retailer..B+H as linked to by Rob2402 ;

1. K50 c/w BG-5 Grip and AF200FG flash, a camera bag and 16GB class 10 card..all for $522 which converts ($1.60 to £1) to £326!!

2. Normal price on K50 outside the above special offer is $497 = £311 for body and 32GB class 10 card

3. K50 c/w 18-55 DAL WR 18-55...$597 = £373 (only slightly better than SRS price now...however you can get the pick your own colour options for the same price)

4. K500 with 18-55 DAL absolute entry level but look at the price...$399 = £250!

5. K5IIs body with free 32GB class 10 card, $697 = £436!!

6. K3 c/w BG-5 Grip and 16GB Flu card...$1197 = £748!!

Really good those Simon. Love that old Volvo..from the rear it looks a bit like the Saab 95 my family used to have...built like a tank...I got to drive it soon after passing my test...felt as safe as houses.

I think my favourite 'action' shot is the Cortina '207 FOO' (No....tack sharp as well.
