All very nice Nigel, I especially like number 5! Ah where did summer go?

Nice shots those Nigel and what a very photogenic piece of coastline. One region I've always intended to visit but never quite made it.

What a lovely colourful set, Nigel. Dreams of high summer indeed.
I was at the seaside today, but I assure you the sea and sky looked NOTHING like this. (I wish I'd had a camera with me nonetheless.)
My favourite is the first one for its simplicity and balance.

They all look great to me; all clear and sharp. As others have said where did the summer go?!

Thank you very much everyone for your comments and interest.... It seems that summer is now stored away in my computers hard drive, and I am able to extract and relive little bits of it every now and then.....I hope I've got enough shots to get me through the winter!
John, the car ferry is indeed the only one of these boats that I managed to catch! I always think the visit to Purbeck is special because the ferry crossing from Sandbanks makes it feel like we're going to an island, and the beautiful clean beach and sense of isolation on the Shell Bay side adds to the 'off the beaten track' impression.

Thanks Stan, yes, the K7 is still going strong and I'm determined to get the most out of it .....40,000 clicks so far since March 2012, so hopefully plenty more to come. It does all I need at present, and does it superbly I think. I could always do with some more dynamic range, that's true, which would help outdoors. Indoors I'm a heavy flash user and I love the performance I get from the K7 with flash lighting. Maybe I'll hold off and make a giant leap to Full Frame one day!

I like these, Nigel. Thank you for the shot of the chain ferry, as It is interesting to see what it actually looks like - previously I have only seen the end view, waiting for it to arrive!
Cheers.

Exactly Philip! We get a very limited view from the road approaches on each side, and it is difficult to get any other angle. It's an unusual looking vessel..... The black balls on the masts above each cabin are the only official way to know which way it is moving.
