interesting read
I suspect a gxr module with k-mount is the easiest way to accomplish said goal.. they just take the Lieca module and swap in a kmount. Does that fill a gap in the market? for pentax it does.. but in the larger sense... I suspect IF Pentax had an aps-c evil in development, Ricoh/Pentax might just be...

Pentaxians need not apply
Interesting they prefer a Nikon D3100 over a Nikon D3x, 5D mk2 over a 1Ds mkiv & totally ignore Phase One, Hasselblad or any other expensive medium format sized sensor camera. Sounds like the ad was created by someone with a little camera knowledge who is not really knowledgable... I think they ...

the future of the evolution in electronic imaging..
The videocam style has been available for stills before from Rollei, Chinon and others, but has never proved popular with stills photographers. This new camera seems to offer only 1920x1080 resolution, which just isn't enough for stills. Although it may well take DSLR lenses, it's not really a su...

the future of the evolution in electronic imaging..
meaning there are 4 seperate light receptors per pixel site (red, blue and two green) The Foveon sensor doesn't have two green layers, just one.

the future of the evolution in electronic imaging..
Kodak sold it's sensor division... that means the 645d's sensor is to be made under a new company... I hope they plan on cranking out improved sensors for Pentax!:P a 645d with 4k video would ROCK! I'd actually sell a kidney (somebody elses's, not mine of course:twisted::twisted:) to buy one!

camera settings
There are only three variables that control the amount of light that hits the sensor. Aperture and shutter speed are directly connected, so increase one and the other has to decrease to compensate. ISO controls the sensitivity of the sensor (similar to the speed of the fim) and if increased me...

camera settings
Hi Brian AV is aperture priority, this means you set the depth of field & from that the camera works out the shutter speed for correct exposure. The aperture (f/ number) depends on what you want to shoot, so for landscapes where you want everything in focus use a small aperture (larger number)...

A (Very) Fond Farewell to Pentax
This isn't one of those whinging 'why I'm giving up Pentax' posts! However, I am selling my Pentax gear - K5, lenses from 12-44 zoom, 60-250mm, 200 2.8 and many in between. The camera is superb, I have no complaints. Neither do I have about the lenses, each and every one of them a great example o...

A (Very) Fond Farewell to Pentax
funnily enough, I have come the opposite way. i have a panny GF1 which was my first step away from compacts but wanted something with better external controls and all round performance. the GH2 didn't quite do it for me in those respects (although it is a pretty cool camera in many ways) i some...

A (Very) Fond Farewell to Pentax
Lemmy, if I were you I wouldn’t do anything drastic before we see what delights are revealed at the January PMA tradeshow. There has been chatter about 2 Pentax mirrorless models (Q+1) for maybe 6 months. and with the Kr now officially discontinued there is at least one glaring hole in the APS C ...

A (Very) Fond Farewell to Pentax
iq looks good, sharpness, detail and noise as well despite 4/3, AF seems to be fast All the attributes you quote are true. The AF is superb, in fact. The difference comes with the dynamic range. With the K5, I was constantly amazed at how I could look at the histogram, see burned out highlights.....

Interview with Pentax Japan.
A different translation has been posted by Ricelow: The interviewer asked about if there is any development of new lenses in K-mount. The PR head answered that they would concentrate on the development of new lenses for the Q system first as it is easier to make compacter lenses with the smaller ...

Pentax UK Interview
This is interesting: It’s official! The A55 has been dicontinued in Japan (Source: DC.watch). The question now is: Is the A65 the natural successor of the A55 or not? My answer is no! :) Source: http://www.sonyalpharumors.com/sony-a55-officially-discontinued-in-japan/ As I understand it the...

Pentax UK Interview
As I understand it the A55 uses the same sensor as the K5, which suggests to me that both cameras are being phased out because the specific sensor is being discontinued. The Nikon D7000 also uses the same sensor and I can't see that being discontinued any time soon as it's a volume seller for th...
