Pentax UK Interview

No there's no point removing Tav and P mode, or in-camera jpeg processing (you're not going to save any money or space by omitting these things). AF would probably have to stay too. But yes, decripple the mount and get rid of the pop-up flash. Get the rear LCD monitor as thin as possible and/or m...

Pentax UK Interview

I'll buy this: if the price is reasonable.:lol::lol::lol: now ask yourself...how much better would the k5 replacement have to be to justify a higher price? My guess.. it'l have the new sony 24 mp sensor or FF....

Pentax UK Interview

Less mechanical parts also means less vibration and sharper pictures. They're possibly also taking the shutter out of the equation, thinking back to Mr. Kitazawa. As well as eliminating shutter blur entirely, that would open up insanely fast burst rates... Ultra fast burst rates is a bit of a Ricoh ...

Another day, another rumour. Pentax mirrorless K-01

This is of course the APS C sized mirrorless announced with the Q. The surprise to me is the apparant dumping of a more affordable DSLR in the form of the KR for it. I would have been nice to think there was room for both. I also see Ricoh are considering a K mount module for their very odd in...

Getting JJC RM-E7 working with Pentax K-R

Set the drive mode on the camera to remote shooting and try it just setting how the remote works will not do it. the remote is best in front of the camera as that is where the sensor is. works fine on mine

The Ricoh GXR with a K Mount adapter. Takers?

Actually you can use manual Pentax lenses which have an aperture ring on the Ricoh GXR fitted with the A12 Leica M mount Module plus a Leica M to Pentax K mount adapter available from several sources on eBay. Unfotunately you cannot use DA leses which have no aperture ring. It is rumoured that R...

CP+ 2012 - Interview with Hiraku Kawauchi of Pentax Ricoh Imaging Company

I think we need to be careful about how 'unique' we expect them to be, based on that interview. The guy himself stated that he expected dSLR to be around for a long time. He obviously didn't mean 'so unique that we abandon everything that other companies do'. I think he meant 'unique' as in d...

I'm beginning to take this photography lark seriously.

I am using an old (5 yrs-ish) Pentium D Dual Core 3Ghz with 3Gb RAM running Windows XP and with an old-ish Nvidia 8600GT graphics card with 256mb of graphics RAM. Disks are 2x 2TB Network Storage Devices which are automatically sychronized using a freeware program called Allway Sync (which is very ...

Sensor developments.

DP Review have similar and I think there was a thread on here yesterday about same. Beggars belief as to why bother when 5 or 6 megapixels would have avoided the noise anyway for small devices. The key thing is what they do with the idea down the line with real cameras. The large for this ...

Well, I own an old Nikon (sorry to swear) Coolpix 4500 with an enormous 4MP to it's credit. The images it can produce, especially macro, are stunningly good. Having read the link I think I know one of the reasons!

Clever, but will it get them out of trouble? Or maybe more importantly is this the type of thinking that's got them there in the first place ... http://www.sandiegopchelp.com/the-trouble-with-nokia/ http://www.wpcentral.com/nokia-trouble-and-banking-wp7

Sensor developments.

Having had time to think about this, I seem to recall reading somewhere of a digital camera (pro model, of course!) with a 42Mp sensor, but my recollection is that it was actually comprised of a 14Mp blue-sensitive, a 14Mp red-sensitive, and a 14Mp green-sensitive sandwiched together somehow to make...

All using three layers principle. If it was so good why aren't all cameras this way then I wonder?
