35mm Scanner
Hi Emma, I`ve got a similar one - the VEHO VFS 006 35mm scanner - can be used independently of the computer and is fairly basic/uncomplicated to use.Takes 5 negs or 4 slides and plugs into the mains.Fairly accurate and a little slow - maybe 1 scan every 5 seconds - but the shots can be transferre...

ME Super Shutter jammed open. Advice sought.
They can do that, but it's probably a sign that the camera needs a proper service. Whatever caused it to jam in the first place probably will happen again. I once had an MG which would fire reliably for 36 shots (without film, it was sold as broken so I was testing whether my attempt to fix it h...

SP 1000
These old mechanical bodies really aren't hard to work on, assuming that it isn't jammed and that the meter and shutter speeds are accurate. If you buy the light seals package from that ebay link you'll get all the tools you need, although I'd also suggest a spray bottle of screen cleaner (the stuff...

What did you use today?
The last two weekends in York I have been film only. Been using a Spotmatic F and a Program A and been getting some really good results (and a few not so good but that's down to my lack of experience really). Been using Fuji C200 (basic but the rsults can be pretty decent), Fuji Reala 100 in the Spo...

What did you use today?
I don't have much trouble with sensor dust. My K-m is set to self-clean when switched on and I follow the usual suggestions on lens changing (don't do it in a dust cloud, swap them quickly with the camera facing down, etc). Anything the sensor shaker doesn't catch can be removed with a rocket blower...

Recomend me a film camera please
Bear in mind that most of the DA lenses won't work properly on film - the digital sensor is smaller than a 35mm frame so you'll get vignetting. That said, I would say to look at the ME Super/ME F if you want Av mode. Compact, solid cameras. The ME F is essentially identical but has focus confirm...

Negative scanner - any ideas?
if you wanted to go to A4 size and had a good inkjet printer would the results via the scanner be as good as those returned by mail order D and PO houses? They can be, a lot depends on the negative/slide, the type of film used (some scan better than others) as well as the printer/paper combination. ...

negatives to computer
You could try one of these, They have a 5 meg sensor and I use an older version for my 35mm negs. Maplins also do a cheaper scanner but I don't know how good it is. Hope that helps.

negatives to computer
I have an Epson V500 scanner that I bought just over a year ago, and I've just finished transferring around 7000 images (slides and negatives) to the computer. The rationale was (a) there wouldn't be an extra cost to scanning once I'd bought the machine (other than my time), (b) it's a flatbed so h...

negatives to computer
Well I salute those that put so much more effort into the job than I can be bothered to. I thought my solution was labour-intensive! I know that I'd cross my own insanity threshold if I had to position each frame separately, and/or indeed clone the dust off every negative.:shock::shoc...

ME-super & AF400FTZ flash ... trying to learn, information please?
Simple Auto operation should be possible with most cameras as the flashgun cuts itself off when enough light has been received by its sensor.

ME-super & AF400FTZ flash ... trying to learn, information please?
I am away from home but checking the manual rather than the gun itself, the trouble is the AF400FTZ doesn't have the sensor ;) Kim Simple Auto operation should be possible with most cameras as the flashgun cuts itself off when enough light has been received by its sensor.

what's wrong with my prints?
try this . He doesn't have a kit for the S1a listed but I should think the Spotmatic kit would be very similar. If you contact him he may be able to do you one for the S1a. It is easy to do, all the seals are precut and the only thing you may need extra is some kitchen towel and lighter fuel...

what's wrong with my prints?
Interslice is Jon Goodman and a very nice gut. He can produce a "kit" but in all honesty his basic kist is so easy it is not worth gting precut ones. It is slightly different for the Canonets etc because you do have to cut the seals to a special pattern. The only difficult one on a Pentax SL...

LX Power Issue
Hi Bob & Welcome. There's bound to be someone here who knows the answer. For my part, I don't know the LX at all but I would start by checking the battery terminals for any sign of corrosion/staining as this is very likely to hinder a good contact. IF, IF there is any proceed with caution. ...

ME Super exposure compensation fault
One of my ME Supers has a bizarre fault where it occasionally underexposes by two stops. Weirdly if I wiggle the exposure compensation dial this clears, so I'm guessing it's due to dirty contacts (given the thing reeked of tobacco smoke when I got it I'm not entirely surprised). So, obviously, I'...

Pentax ES I have just acquired
I would guess mechanical. As far as I know all Pentax shutters default to closed if the batteries aren't healthy? Mind you, I've a feeling that the ES would work without batteries in manual mode. It should be fixable, it probably just needs 30+ years of old grease and oil cleaning out and some n...

I'm really enjoying my MZ-50 & DA 35mm 2.4AL
Well - something does occur to me when I shoot with this. I've often thought that an EVIL Pentax system with an APS-C image sensor could be a great opportunity to hark back to the form factor of 35mm bodies such as the MZ-50. Like Samsung have done with the NX10 but with nice retro styling, bu...
