Pentax K-01
You're right - not all 80s design is bad, but the OM-D doesn't look good IMO (then again I think the X100 is pretty dumb design wise, which most people don't). Not all 80s music is bad either but I'm mystified by the recent musical trend to refer back to what generally speaking was a pretty awful so...

[quote:3496ace15f="dcweather"]The thing that manufacturers don't understand about viewfinders is that they have dioptre adjustment. There are 20 million people over 50 in the UK and they hold 80% of the wealth. The majority of these wear reading glasses like me. This means you have to put on glasses...

So it solves the problem by adding to the cost and making a compact camera stick out more at the back than a DSLR does at the front!! No worries, the K-01 couldn't be called compact by any stretch of the imagination anyway :D

I saw on another forum, somebody referring to the k-01 as a digital back with k-mount. Seems like a great way to look at it. No?

I still don't see the point of buying something like the Sony when the Pentax gives better image quality. I say this based on my experience of Sony cameras. I've always found the colour and detail to be disappointing and am soon glad to get back to that fabulous Pentax coliur and general renderin...

Aside from the visual aesthetics, some of the designs of the 70s and 80s are still pretty unbeaten when it comes to simple and intuitive controls, and ergonomics. That's why they're still enjoyable to use and a welcome break from more complex menu-driven digital cameras. I suspect that's also partly...

The reservations he expresses will form the basis for all the reviews on the camera- the design and lack of EVF. The camera has no flaws that aren't obvious by design. It takes very good pictures- I do think an optional clip on VF would partially take care of one of these problems- even if it were j...

Went by SRS to have a look... It feels soooo nice to hold and looks a lot better in reality than in pictures. The back screen is gorgeous and the controls have a quality feel. It is quite big and heavy but the straight line boxy design should make it very easy to carry assuming you stick a pancake l...

I too have looked for a lighter backpacking option and eventually came back to the K5 as my lighter option as it's the smallest thing that does everything I want! Combined with Ltd's it would be ideal (Like the last time!) but that would mean buying that dammed 21mm again and I may as well just supe...

K-01 - Black Version?
A digital MX would mean a smaller, leaner design. As we know the market's all about compact proportions at the moment! There is also a trend for 'classic looking design' - not just in cameras, look at the Fiat 500. In camera terms, it's also about reducing the complexity of the controls - the MX jus...
