That sounds like a plan sir! The look has grown on me. It screams of industrial design.

thanx...
btw I suspect there will be a new d-slr in our future from Pentax as well... I for one am hoping it is a Mz5n look-alike with all the feature of the k-01 + the features of the k-5 as a replacement for the kr... that would be sexy!
Fired many shots. Didn't kill anything.

Yellow is associated with DeWalt...... maybe they can get them to design one that matches the DeWalt Radio link
Half Man... Half Pentax ... Half Cucumber

Pentax K-1 + K-5 and some other stuff

Opethian, just a thought. Howz about buying up a batch and rebranding as JCB or Caterpillar?
Or Tonka!

Couldn't resist

But I'm up for the Yellow...

The majority of photos of the K-01 on the Web show body only or body with the new pancake lens - this makes it look like a silly toy, especially the yellow version. When the black or black+silver body is fitted with a normal lens (e.g. the usual kit zoom 18-55), it looks more like a real camera.

You know I said Pentax should hire you for their camera R&D department, Don?

I take it back!

So I'm guessing my idea for a k-01 replacement body with evf and touch screen articulated lcd is out?

I dunno, with that sort of screen I would find an EVF redundant tbh! Maybe it could be an optional clip-on one? But I like your idea of a digital version of the MZ5N (I'd like a digital Super-A even more though!)

Digital Super-A?

We've been calling for a digital MX for ages, small light, simple functions..

...but all we get are superb DSLR models and now a yellow brick!

Until I see one in the flesh I'll reserve comment on the K-01, but the all black does look very good...
Cheers, HG

K110+DA40, K200+DA35, K3 and a bag of lenses, bodies and other bits.

Mustn't forget the Zenits, or folders, or...

PPG entries.

Yeah I usually talk about digital MX but why not Super-A, I'd be equally happy with that!

Anything but the beercan above or another brick!

Interesting. The innards could be the same, but would a different outer shape make it any better or worse? Who would it appeal to? What would an MX or Super A shape mean to a digital audience?

Or would they simply see an old-fashioned camera design?
Best regards, John
