Seeing as though the Hollywood is the New Year lens....
I thought I'd take mine out for the first photo walk of the year - an hour and a half wandering up through Great Malvern, further up to St Ann's Well and back down over Malvern Link common... 1. View from Rose Bank Gardens 2. The Donkey Sheds 3. St Ann's road and Foley Terrace from t...

Seeing as though the Hollywood is the New Year lens....
This little article tells a bit about it Kris... https://www.eoshd.com/news/60-pentax-lens-thats-actually-a-800-zeiss-by-designer-of-stanley-kubricks-nasa-glass/ I doubt anyone would find one for $60 now! The "bend the aperture lever back and forth until it snaps off" is a rather horrify...

Seeing as though the Hollywood is the New Year lens....
You'd have thought Canon would have made a 28mm f2 lens by now for their users to save wrecking decent Pentax ones. The moral here must be to buy the right brand in the first place so you don't have to destroy a valuable, well thought of, lens! The whole lever can be removed without too much diffic...

More Streptocarpus Flowers...
After an enforced break due to Christmas and other things, a window of time and opportunity for kitchen photography appeared a few days ago. So the kitchen macro kit was brought out. But what to photograph? Well, Mrs L's houseplants are still flowering furiously so it was a chance to try to get a be...

Byland Abbey
Lovely photos of a very distinctive ruin. Sadly, I've not been back there since my college days.

The new ThamesWey Energy Centre in Woking
Thanks Pschlute , for the details of print and frame as I’ve been thinking about starting a few prints small at first until I get a feel for what comes back from the lab. I’ve read that to keep the image a bit brighter during PP so that the print might match better of what was intended, I’m enjoyin...

From Woodland, to Water, to Moorland

From Woodland, to Water, to Moorland
Lovely set David - with some nice, crisp selective focus 8) You know it's a good set when the viewer can imagine themselves taking the same walk - and I could

Lentney Battery
Thanks guys. The old flash is a Centon FG 30 D which is not TTL, ( came free with some other kit - P30N slr which was bundled with a Slide converter I wanted) I think the flash settings are 'directing' / telling the camera what to do and not the other way around? The old A lens/camera would b...

Thursday night's Moon
Thank you for the comments chaps. Re. Mike and getting out your tripod, I have a Peak Design travel one (which I'm very pleased with apart from the high price) - there is a quick way of releasing the legs, release all clips at once -2 seconds, shake out the legs - 2 seconds, close clips - ...

Peter, Treat my reply below as from a beginner, and all experts out there can correct at will :D I used the Looney Eleven and it worked perfect for the shot, and checking the exif, no exposure compensation. Also on Liveview the shutter was set to Electronic not manual, don't want any shutt...

PS. Used Focus Peaking on manual focus having zoomed in digitally first, 2 second timer. PPS Reading my typing I sound as if I'm getting good at this, but I did attach the 1.4 TC halfway through, which is of course totally incompatable - as I realised. Doh. How do you mean incompatible? The 1.4x...

Thursday night's Moon
This is one from me, shot 3 years ago 1/200 sec - F5.6 - 100 ISO - handheld - K1 - 150 to 450 @ 450 plus a decent crop. You've got me going now Chris ! I have a Ki11 and a 150-450 so I'll have to have a try with that kit. My shot from last night was primarily an experiment in exposure (whic...

Thursday night's Moon
No problem Peter, it was a reasonable clear sky at the end of May and the moon was high up in the sky, I used the edge of the back door frame for support. Stick the camera into continuous shooting mode, shoot at least 3 and frame 2 should be sharper

As to the shot that wasn't very well focused, it was mentioned that the focus was set to infinity. That's probably the reason for the poor focus because with some lenses you go past infinity by winding it all the way to the stop. It's always better to look at what you've got in live view when it wil...

BTW I don't see many Astro shots in here. :? Another one from Oct LY just before the clocks went back, standing on the top of a 5ft step ladder so I could see over the fence at Fairford with a K3iii plus the 150 - 450. 1/640 sec - F5.6 - 400 ISO to combat my movement !! As shot apart from a dece...

Thursday night's Moon
I had another try tonight with the K70 and 55-30PLM. I set to bracketted 3 shot shooting and used manual focus. Hand held again but leaning against the house wall to steady myself. Conditions were still not the best (urban environment and slightly haxy sky) but the rsults are much better - what d...

Pentax Z-1P images - camera 2 test images
Thanks all! The Z-1P is a joy to use and it pretty much nails the exposure every time. A few where I shot into the sun I pointed the camera up and down or left to right to guage how much the exposure changed with the sun in and out of the sky and then either found a mid exposure if I could and used ...
