You can do, I just did a bit of trial and error, I started with to low a shutter speed, the moons brighter than you think plus you need a shutter speed to overcome your shake and the moons movement
Many thanks, Chris.

As to the shot that wasn't very well focused, it was mentioned that the focus was set to infinity. That's probably the reason for the poor focus because with some lenses you go past infinity by winding it all the way to the stop. It's always better to look at what you've got in live view when it will be found that 'focus' is just this side of the infinity stop.

BTW I don't see many Astro shots in here.
Another one from Oct LY just before the clocks went back, standing on the top of a 5ft step ladder so I could see over the fence at Fairford with a K3iii plus the 150 - 450.BTW I don't see many Astro shots in here.
1/640 sec - F5.6 - 400 ISO to combat my movement !! As shot apart from a decent crop

I had another try tonight with the K70 and 55-30PLM.
I set to bracketted 3 shot shooting and used manual focus.
Hand held again but leaning against the house wall to steady myself.
Conditions were still not the best (urban environment and slightly haxy sky) but the rsults are much better - what do you think ?

dng image sharpened up (and heavily cropped) in PaintshopPro 2022.

Many thanks, Chris.
I've leant a lot from other members in this short experience and that is one of the things that's great about this forum.
Thanks again

That's a superb result, lovely detail.
HDR is an option I have not explored yet with PP on astro shots, I'll check if RT can do it.
