K3iii + 150 - 450 combi test

Nice. Looks like a 787 Dreamliner to me. The swept wingtips and saw-edge on the back of the engines are the clues.

First set for a long time (image-heavy)

What a refreshing set for a chilly October morning! We visited Corfu three times and loved the laid back and easygoing atmosphere, the detail shots evoke those memories most for me. Great shots.

Streptocarpus

Lovely subjects Steve, I like Ivy in particular, for the composition. I wonder if there's any way to pull a little more light out of those petals, for contrast, or perhaps go the other direction and pull it all way back for mystery? Then again, it's fine as is, it just seems it could go different w...

Some Classics in The Wild (Image Heavy)

Back in May I got asked to ‘take some pictures’ for a classic road rally event our club runs, and it’s always a fun day with a good mixture of old and modern classics. Last time I was driving the course car so could just enjoy the driving, but this year was definitely a more stressful exercise. I h...

Some Classics in The Wild (Image Heavy)

Thanks both, I was glad when it was over and relieved to find at least one decent shot of each competitor. It's an incentive to get my engine back in the car so I can enter again next year and leave the 'togging' to someone else :-) There was a MK2 too Flan, but an 8V I think.

Some Classics in The Wild (Image Heavy)

Engine change Crossed, I hope you have a decent sized garage (it’s that time of year )😀 I was a passenger in an opel manta 3litre rally prepared around the same period mid late 80’s on a closed road I didn’t have to do anything as the driver knew the stretch like the back of his hand From ...

Samples from yet another new toy - Soligor C/D P 28mm f2 m42

Here are a couple of samples from a lens I just received, all wide open. I bought it as a quick option to switch to wide angle when I'm out and about with the m42 Takumars. I deliberately chose wide open samples as that's how I primarily intend to use it. If I get round to it later, I might try some...

Stacked or Not Stacked?

Mrs. L. spotted a small (2cm long), inconspicuous flower on the 'string of hearts' plant that dangles delicately near the front door. She said that it was hard enough to see it, getting a decent photo would be even more difficult. So... a challenge that couldn't be ignored! The plant had to stay in ...

First outing with the D FA 21mm Limited

Thanks for the comments - it really was just a quick wander around to give it a first try-out. That building with the nice brickwork (thanks Peter) that now houses Rhubarb Home, makes a great subject and tests the sharpness of lenses. When the shop was being refurbished a few years ago they disco...

First outing with the D FA 21mm Limited

The lens definitely fits in beautifully with the other FA Limited lenses, they've done a great job keeping the styling, look and feel. The only thing that makes it look a little different is the lack of an aperture ring. It is quite a big lens (compared to the FA20 or A20) but it feels nicely wei...

First outing with the D FA 21mm Limited

Just been experimenting with the close focus capabilities... I know I'm a Pentax fan but this lens is truly special

Autumn Bits 2

thanks for comments, the wood has been severely damaged by Ash die back and has seen a lot of trees cut down so going to be more difficult as a subject. Most of the ferns have have been destroyed where they have brought machinery in to cut the trees up, making a right mess. It seems to be happen...

silhouetted shoreline person

Thanks all. I should of added a back story to the images when I posted it but it was late and I was lacking energy! I saw this person when I was on the pier, snapped a few images off and thought how lonely they looked. I then walked back along the pavilion towards my car and them and shot a f...

River Frome (Dorset)

Correct:-) Yay!!!!:D:D A friend used to launch his boat from a slipway not far from where you were standing. He took me with him several times. Down the river, around Poole harbour, back up the river, hang around for the tide to be right, make a fool of yourself trying to get the boat out of the ...

An hour's walk around Wembury Point.
