Back in the Fold

Having tried the dark side, M4/3rds. Decided "better the devil you know ". Found using the camera was not as easy as my K3 as well as the astronomical prices of the PRO lenses plus the general short comings of the smaller sensor. These are of course purely my findings. Being honest i could not fault...

Back in the Fold

Nice pictures... :) ... Except for the first one. It looks very much like Himalayan Balsam, a non-native thug which is spreading rapidly via prolific seeding, particularly along streams and rivers . If you see it in flower, remove the flowers, or even uproot the whole plant, so it won't se...

Lubbyman, it is growing in the "wild" woodland section of the park but no doubt if it is a problem someone will get it sorted, usually people around doing maintainence on the park. thanks Grumpy from another Grumpy, so i'm told:D:D

Love the richness of colour in that third image! That opening image looks like one of those orchids you buy for the house, that soon die, but yours is living on a tree :?:

British GT Championship, Oulton Park

Had another day at Oulton Park this weekend, this time with some more modern stuff rather than the classics at the Gold Cup. As with the last time I went to Oulton for the GTs, weather was decidedly wet by the time they got out for the second race. As a result of that, I didn't really get the chance...

Project Sun

A few for a little project I set myself called 'Sun'. All shot with the K1 and either D FA 24-70mm or DA* 60-250mm I posted these into a local group on Facebook for Barry where people upload images out and about of Barry, businesses post what they're up to, general gripes and good things happenin...

Tricky one this...I can see and understand both points of view...for and against posting such images. Overall i'm with Steve on this one...I personally wouldn't like my recognisable image posted publicly anywhere without my consent and can therefore identify with anyone who might have objected to...

Project Sun

Seems a decisive topic, if that's the right grammar. I posted this on Facebook regarding street images, when we look back at iconic images through such masters like Henri Cartier-Bresson, Joel Meyerowitz, Garry Winogrand, Robert Doisneau, Vivian Maier or Diane Arbus, almost always these photographer...

Project Sun

A couple of weeks ago I thought I would try photographing people in a local weekly market. One stall holder turned his back whenever the camera pointed in his direction, another asked for his photo to be deleted as he was on the run, and a third said as a Muslim he didn’t allow any photos of his fac...

More with the 150 - 450 attached to a K3iii

A few more from the WWT London trip on Saturday, not as busy as the recent visit to Slimbridge with a lot less ankle bighters about :-) Did spot 2 x Green Woodpeckers on the grass early on, disturbed by a WWT warden walking close by before I could train the lens on them, also had a flypast by a J...

Brownsea Island - September 2021 - part one

Still fortunate enough to be able to stay in the castle on Brownsea Island (Poole Harbour) courtesy of the John Lewis Partnership, the island is such a calming and beautiful place - the ideal place to get my photo-mojo back, and this time round it certainly worked. Over the four and a bit days I too...

Green apple

Second one is better for me too. The slight reduction in detail might be caused by focus being very slightly off.
