Harlow Carr Flowers
All nicely composed, Steve, and number 2 stands out for me. Whilst demonstrating my horticultural ignorance by being unable to name the flower, the composition suggests the flower is reaching up to catch any passing rain drops (or to attract pollinators, I suspect). I find the back-of-scene flow...

Last of the Lavender
Magical! :D:D Interesting how the way you view a picture can change how you see it. With the tablet screen in landscape layout, the picture wouldn't fit on the screen so I had to scroll up and down to see it all. The picture appeared to be of a single lavender stem/flower with an interesting, col...

Last of the Lavender
Thanks for the comments - I had spent 10 minutes trying to photograph an Acer (the OOF reds in the background - Chris ;) ) but when I stopped for a moment and lowered the camera I noticed the lonely lavender in the foreground so changed the focus point and hey presto. The lens was my A*85/1.4 and a...

Italian Car Day
It's been a long time since I've visited Brooklands and have been meaning to go back for several years. Great to hear they are making improvements. You've managed to capture some nice clean and uncluttered images of the cars that really show off their quality and appeal, which is never easy at these...

Contrasting Activities on The Isle of Mull (Image Heavy)
Just got back from a couple of days on the Isle of Mull for rally weekend. I wasn't with a competing team this year so just went up for a short break without any time pressure, which meant I could just relax and soak up the atmosphere.... and take some pictures. I was camping, so obviously it raine...

More from Mull (Image Heavy)
In a similar vein to the previous set, here are some more images from rally weekend on Mull. All with the K1 II and FA31 or DA*200, except Wreck, Cherub and Sound of Mull which are with the K-m and DA40. Up at Croig… Wreck Road In and around Tobermory… Sound of Mull Cherub ...

More from Mull (Image Heavy)
Thanks for all the comments guys. Nice set. Road and Sound for me please. Can I make a suggestion for the first one, Wreck. The wreck itself and the rocks make for a powerful image, but I think the sky is not doing the image any favours. You have accurately exposed the subject and foreground ...

Fairford B1 and U2
A early morning visit to RAF Fairford this morning for the B1's and captured a U2 as well. All 3 images K3iii + Pentax 150 - 450 - 1/200 sec @ F5.6 max focus at 450mm plus standing 4 ft up on top of a step ladder so I could shot over the perimeter fence from across the road. I arrived just af...

Last of the Italian cars (and one motorbike)
A great set again, Peter. No. 2 is my favourite photographically, but the Fiat Dino is the one I'd love to own. I really should have bought one back when the prices were still sensible, but I opted for the even more sensibly priced 124 Spider.

Last of the Italian cars (and one motorbike)
What is it about classic cars and the way they look. What happened to car designers, they lost their way! They need to look back to this era and start making cars with lines like these again 8)

Nice to be back - first efforts
After a long break, easily a couple of years if not longer, of not really taking the time to think about photography I'd like to share my latest efforts. I've been motivated to buy a used K5iis which is so much more friendly to use (AF, metering, low light) than the K20D I've been using for the past...
