Ebay postage charges

I got burned on my first ever sale. Undercharged by about 4 pounds. I've been charging the actual cost of shipping or very near. That's because I have loads of boxes and fillers to wrap the items. So I'm usign them and charging nothing or very little (I want to get those £4 back). I think I do it ...

Selling abroad on ebay

Muchas gracias Lynton. I do live in Spain but I still don't trust the Correos and it gives me an excuse to go back and see the family too.

Code of conduct for nature photography

You know, I'm all for using common sense....except it ain't common anymore. Some people really know how to put the "Mental" in environmentalist. wouldn't surprise me to see "Green" protesters picketing Micheal Jacksons funeral, protesting the burning or burying of that much plastic.... The glob...

Tripod and monopod question

Much more versatile with a good quality ball and socket head that has a slot that allows it to be moved to 90deg. That way you can just rest the monopod on your shoulder or point the camera upwards in the case of a bird, slacken off the ball and let the monopod hang vertical, tighten the ball and th...

Tripod and monopod question

If your only going to use the monopod just in the conventional sense it doesn't matter. It's just that I find it steadies the camera quite well if I use it more like a rifle, but because of the length I just rest it over my shoulder and not pushed against it like a rifle. A few companies did make ca...

Tripod and monopod question

I was actually talking about two different positions there Amin. The first is over the shoulder like a bazooka gun? the second was similar to the normal vertical position on the ground, but lift it off the ground and hold it against you body to steady it, with your left hand, after you have the came...

Why did you choose Pentax?

I came from a Nikon D80 setup to a K10D then onto the GX20 - switched from Nikon due to the Nikon getting every so slightly wet in a brief shower which stopped half the buttons on the back from working!! After looking at the Canon 400D that felt like a kids plastic toy that would squirt water out...

Why did you choose Pentax?

I can’t really remember why I bought my k1000 – in 1981 I think – but it got some heavy use! I still have it but the shutter’s a bit tired. It was the sheer build quality of the old k1000 that meant when considering a DSLR there was no doubt in my mind about buying another Pentax. (The k1000 has ...

Why did you choose Pentax?

I got a K20D at the end of January, my first Pentax mount. I've moved over from Minolta (Sony) mount for my main camera, still keeping some Minolta stuff back though. The Sony range felt like a strategically marketed electronics company price pointing features that a photographer would want, unl...

SATURDAY MEET THE 9th NAME LIST.

I'll be there, hopefully about 10am depending on my ability to get out of bed which is limited at the best of times. I'll be riding a Suzuki 1200 Bandit wearing a black crash helmet and a bright yellow motorcycle jacket. The tripod bungeed to the back may be a giveaway! Wish me dry roads! Ch...

Who remembers....

Pretty much most things are on default. I did something with the custom function some time back but can't remember precisely what. Just running back through it now, there's a few things I want to play with and check but not too many.

Who remembers....

Only for UK members who have it set to Dutch, not the other way around Stefan. With our heritage that wouldn't be fair.:D:D You've got to remember that very few people outside Holland speak Dutch, that's what makes you so good at other languages!:? On the other hand an awful lot of people s...

Giclee printing

Hello, long time since I was around these parts ;-) However, I'm back (no groans please) with an ulterior motive. An Art-dealer friend and I are currently engaged in a hush-hush project to start a web business selling Fine Art prints and Limited Edition Photographs. Damn I've said too much already. ...

Giclee printing

TBH I've never liked the look of Giclee prints at all - sort of mushy. Good to see you back.
