Don?
Right, this isn't just for Don, but I'm guessing he's going to come up with at least one idea... My wife broke her toe last week. :( We went to the hospital today, and got her some crutches (good old NHS). I asked what we do with them when she doesn't need them anymore, and was told t...

finally booked for New England
Wow sounds like a great trip. Any shopping you do should be done in New Hampshire -no sales tax!!!! The roads in New England are lovely, and heve a very English feel to them, they even have roundabouts in New England! Once away from Greater Boston driving is very relaxed. Or at least it was in Aug...

Some Pic's from The isle of Skye
You've a couple of really interesting shots in there - I particularly like the really moody sky shots looking towards Skye and the cottages and reflections titled Portree... So very jealous, I had a wonderful trip to Scotland back at the end of Oct... Just waiting on hearing back from an old frie...

Some Pic's from The isle of Skye
A cracking shot. I visited Skye a few years ago with my ME, and it's just gorgeous up there.. have to go back sometime. We stayed on a campsite, and the one thing I'll remember for ever was a group of German? students who arrived with a VW minibus, and for extra luggage space, they'd welded a Rena...

Some Pic's from The isle of Skye
It's alright Mac, you're not being stalked by strange wee beasties, I see them too. We're talking about images 31 and 32. Image 31 has (amongst others) three bright dots in a line at the bottom left hand corner. I thought they must have been from a flash too. :? A pair of eyes in the middle...

Photo Critiques
There is a fair bit of chat about this subject on another link https://www.pentaxuser.com/forum/viewtopic.php?t=4112 I would like to see a section where images are posted for comments but where the person who posts the image is very clear abouth what they need comments on. EG Lighting, exposure...

Photo Critiques
Here are my opinions. As I have said in another thread, I would definitely like to see a cure for the recent watering down of the main PENTAX issues with all the photo critique posts. Each picture submitted usually takes up pages of critiques, rebuttles and multiple posts of the same or similar...

Photo Critiques
Hi all, rather than reiterating the points I made in a previous post from yesterday.. 'ere's wot I dun rote.. :D my tuppence worth, as someone who posts the occasional photo, is that as it's a photography forum, it's nice to see photos here. You're correct in point out the size of some...

A Short Bio..Sort Of.
I was born in Toronto, Canada, where I grew up.? I was never quite sure what I wanted in life and fell in to many things by accident.? I played drums in a few punk rock groups, one of which was called the "Existers" that was produced by John Cale and another called the "Poles" th...

X Rays at Airports
Last trip abroad I had my Velvia 100F zapped 7 times (LHR, Dubai x2, Sidney x3 & Auckland) to no ill effect. 4 of the 7 hits were on exposed rolls. Might be something that is peculiar to the film that caused you problems Womble. I do have a lead bag, but don't use it now. That's because last...

X Rays at Airports
Why not buy the film there, then post it back to yourself before you leave to circumvent the machines entirely? It should arrive back a couple of days after you do. :)

Tripod question.
The 055PROB is an excellent and versatile tripod. The reason I chose it above any other is that the centre column can be removed and mounted horizontally to take top down shots more easily without getting tripod legs in the way. The 488RC2 makes an excellent ball head for all but the lens I menti...

Tripod question.
Gwyn; Not sure what you're looking for in a strap, but I ran across this a couple weeks back and have been considering it for myself... Although designed for scopes, no reason that I can see to prevent them from being just as useful for a camera, although I'd be more inclined to not lave ...

Would you like to see an FAQ section here
Peter, The trouble is, when does a single question become an FAQ? My feeling is that the difficult signal-to-noise ratio at the moment is caused by users not appending to a thread, but starting a new one on exactly the same topic with a slightly different title  (Drives me mad!) Perhaps...

Would you like to see an FAQ section here
Just linked back to this thread after reading PentaxDans "what can we do better plea" The idea of an FAQ or techniques area is a good one - is there any way of the moderators being able to use all of our input to build up a wikipedia style thread of info on the popular topics - Pentaxip...

Theorizing about future product.
lots of people in lots of places are loudly proclaiming that because Pentax, and other makers, are currently making lenses with image circles only suitable for the APS sensor that this is some kind of 'sure sign' that sensor size will not change. What seems to me to be massively overlooked is; ...
