Theorizing about future product.

Big fan that I am on Pentax but can you be sure that the market leader for 6x7 and 6x4.5 was Pentax? Remember Mamiya are very strong, and still are, in these segments with the RZ-67 and M645AFD being digitally compatible. I agree those two are/were strong contenders in their respective fields, ...

Theorizing about future product.

In the days when we all used aperture rings and focused manually, it made better sense to use camera lenses that all worked the same way. Otherwise, you pick up your medium format and it focuses and changes aperture back to front. Not a big deal until you are under stress in the middle of some ev...

yesterdays photo

Is the washed-out part easily salvageable? Was the original shot in RAW or JPG? RAW would give you more room for adjustment, but either way, the highlights look pretty well blown to me, and I doubt you'd get much detail back.

It was JPG, regrettably, but either way I can't say I'm surprised. I'd...

Pentaxians shout loudly...

I think they've been reading my posts. I shoulda' TM'd it! No mention of a mothership in ther though.... That settles it then....I'm gonna have to hang up the "Out of Business" sign. Maybe I'll go join a cult. I heard about this groups of crazed zealots based primarily outa' Japa...

is it just me or....

I lost one hour's sleep last night so I'm far too tired to decide what MIA might be (missing in action?) but it hasn't been here. Now it's back we can all talk again. 8)

New Picture for Opinions

I'm definately no expert but these are my thoughts and I may be way way of the mark, this is the first time I've actually tried to do a critical analysis of some one else image, but here goes anyway. First reaction, nice, I like the style, the colours, the pose and the subject, I've went back and...

Aww.. how cute!

Formby, near Liverpool, is a very good place to see red squirrels. They are almost tame. This is one I took there - pre-digital with my P35N, a year or two ago. I don't understand why it had such a black tail and back. Howard

LCD Monitor

I received my L2000C, I can confirm that it's a really good display, the view angles are good, and its colour gradation and brightness etc are all good. the ability to pivot between landscape and portrait is way cool (even though theres no automatic pivot software for osx, you have to change it m...

LCD Monitor

Point 1 seems a little odd for a monitor of that value but even so calibrating it properly is always a good idea. Point 2 I would not be happy with a monitor that changes colour across the screen - IHMO Send it back and get a replacement from LG.

LCD Monitor

FWIW, I use a Lacie 120 (with LaFrame) which is exceedingly nice. Colour is very stable and consistent even at high angles. Not that cheap, but worth investigating... if you can still get them! Matt can't find it in the UK at a sensible price... interestingly it seems to be using P-MVA, ...
