Thanks Don - I'd flicked that spring and assumed it must do something but couldn't see what.

I made the same mistake as you, this week actually, mine arrived 2 days ago - they are exactly the same as those in the pic.

For some reason I haven't been able to take a picture with them - or rather every image just comes out black even though everything looks ok through the viewfinder (I'm attempting to use my SMC-A 50mm). Have you managed anything with yours yet? I will keep trying with them (at least I'm having fun!) - I'm sure there is something obvious I'm missing

I paid around £20 with p&p for mine but don't think they are in as good condition as yours. The most annoying thing about mine is that the picture on the ebay is obviously a newer model as it had different clips and generally just looked a little more modern.

Sorry for the daft question - but what do you mean by auto-diaphragm, mine doesn't seem to do anything automatically?

edited due to dodgy spelling

Unlucky

As I said, if it's just the motherboard then all your pictures are still on your hard disk. This can be installed in a second machine so you can copy the data off.

Hope you get it sorted.

What was the issue, if it's a failed motherboard then all your data will still be available off the hard disk?

I thought Dell's came with 3 year warranty as standard? Is that just desktops? We stopped buying them a few years back at work ...

For those of you who are quite happy with Internet Explorer you can get IE7Pro plug-in which is a free download. It has a built in spell checker and ad-blocker which gets rid of some of the ad's on the right hand side.

4. Why is there "Recent Forum Comments" and also "New Posts" ? Are they not the same? The answer is no but why are they different?
I may be wrong, but I think the 'New Posts' is supposed to just show threads that have been updated since your last visit, while 'Recent Comments' sorts all threads into date order.

5. Why does it say "Editted" on my posts when I only corrected my spelling mistakes (give us at least 2 minutes after the post/comment)
Technically if you've gone back to a post and changed a spelling then it has been edited. Not sure why this would matter anyway? But I agree with the comments above, if I do edit a post I do add a short explanation why.

I use the video mode on my p&s occasionally and it can be a fun feature, but hardly of any quality.

but ....

When I bought my K10D it was between the Pentax and the D80. If the K10D had video mode I would have probably gone with the Nikon as somewhere in my mind I think it's a bit of a gimmick and therefore the camera is just a toy. I would be disappointed if Pentax introduced this on future cameras.

Probably the same reason I don't take photo's on my phone!

Hi everyone,

I'm interested in joining a local club which will hopefully help me improve my technique and after a few minutes Googling I have found several clubs near me (Towyn, North Wales) including clubs in Abergele, Conwy, Llandudno and Rhyl (as well as others). The Abergele club is 5 minutes away from where I live, but all the others are within a few miles.

I was wondering if there was anyone on here that is local to me that may have attended any of these clubs or had some experience of them, or for those of you who may be members of clubs elsewhere some advice on what to look for (friendly people is always top of the list!).

Thank you.

I just mentioned my 'missing' magazine to my girlfriend and it may have been sat on the dining table for the past few weeks

Personally, I'm not a fan of the recent changes on ebay. The feedback scoring system has always been flawed and don't really think it's any better now, feedback scores mean little in my opinion. I'm only a casual user of ebay and the only time I've had problems (2 occasions) both the sellers had 99%/100% feedback rating, also I wouldn't buy or sell anything of high value there.

I don't like the new (beta) version of the 'My Ebay' page though

Sorry to hijack this, but when did you receive the magazine? I'm a subscriber but haven't received that issue yet?

I may end up buying this one!

It's all a bit odd! I don't have PU in my favourites, I always type the url.

Glad it's working anyway.
