If you do go for the 55-300, I have the posh one for sale as I hardly ever venture out to 300 land

There are no wrong questions
Two things to do would be visit the 'other' pentax forum where they have a database of all lenses along with what people paid for them. Also try ebay where you can search the lens, then check completed listings ( tic a box in the left column)
My 1.2 cost me $nz420 but who knows what that means anymore
I checked my 1.2's focus action. It is very light. Possibly a service would help the sale.

No lens performs best wide open. My DA14 was plenty sharp to the edges stopped down a bit. It's a very nice colourful lens with great close focus ability. I only sold it to get the Sigma 8-16

If you are doing family shots, the DA40 will give you a nice natural perspective, the 21 widens faces and enlarges noses slightly
Try using your zoom set on 21 and see how you like it.
This is a big DA21 crop, not too out of shape

mmm okaaay, I flipped the screen over ...yeah yeah I know,
but I was sure the tab was on the right with cam upside down ?
so anyway she then backfocused without zee shim and front focus with it ...
so presumably medium boy shim of the 2 layers of postit note variety might do the job.
Just talk amongst yourselves and I'll get back to you

Hi Guys,
The nice K100D I recently acquired ( my 4th so far)
came with a diagonal split disc focusing screen of unknown parentage fitted.
Nice
Was getting huge front focus ( presuming that means actual image focus is short
Whipped out the screen to find fatboy shim on top...
Thick as 4 post it notes even
Nice also.
So leaving fatboy out I wacked the screen back in expecting back focus now but no.
She is still in front but 50% better.

So now we have a conundrum, either I'm travelling on a riprocal course and need the boys fat bro in there to...
Or the screen is not zee right one.
Any assistance appreciated and yes I did search but dyslexia kicked in
cheers
Pete

She's a lovely little lens. Only the 8-16 prised it away...

The sensor flair purple spot has varied across bodies for me.
Fine on the K100D, showed up on the K-7 ( where the 300/5.6 showed it much more)and the K-5 no issue
