It is a compact lens, Pentax always have and continue to do compact.

Well the da 14 is a hulking piece if glass 77mm front element and 11 elements behind it, its going to be slower to focus...
Maybe the old girl drags the clutch too

the 90 might be too long then.
I use the FA50/2.8 for that.
Maybe go with dougf8's ideal of tubes on something shorter
