Just got my invitation - cold and grey here but no sign of the gales and lashing rain forecast !!

The Solera brandy is going down well after dinner HG - the wine makes me thirsty you know !
Can`t see Alan or Barrie outside - could you not have worn a carnation or something ?

I take it I missed your complaints for comp #160. ND 1.8 – ND 3.0 - I certainly don`t own them - and the one on macro lenses which many don`t own !

How fascinating Stan - I thought they were a ground cover plant ! When would they pick them ?
Do they have varieties like left foot trees and right foot trees ? And like Clarks shoes do they have branches everywhere ?

Wooah Ken - it`s hardly a membership requirement is it ?
It`s a one week comp and is no more restrictive than any other subject depending on the location and mood of the photographer entering.
As John R said there are "older" members with manual focus gear and as Charlotte said " the joy of Pentax is the compatibility of older lenses".
As you can see from my list previously I have many collected over 20 odd years and the most expensive one I own cost about £100 ( Sigma 28-300 new )
I really do not see the correlation between subject matter and equipment as a deterrent for a weekly comp - were we battling for a ££££ prize or a Diploma then I might find it restrictive - I enter if I think I have a worthy shot and enjoy doing so for the experience and comments - no more no less.
No manual lens ??? Miss one week then - it hardly "turns me against Pentax or the PUF"

Sounds idyllic Gwyn - Jersey is lovely - food and scenery - I`ve only ever seen the "other" makes of camera there but I live in hope ( I did buy Gill an Espio for her 64th )
Emma is not overly happy as ALL police leave is cancelled for JULY AUGUST SEPTEMBER - and she may not even have a job at the end of it !!
I`m off to see the Oncology prof AND the Colostomy surgeon on a double date !! Glad the coffee is free...................that`s Private Medicine for you hee hee.
