Agreed with everyone - I use Picassa all the time unless I am in Flickr and it is quite sufficient for my old brain to handle if a little limited in scope.

Just keep taking the shots - lots of great things to come I think.

Hi Ben - welcome - I agree with Mike ( petrochemist )but I would also add my own favourite - Pentax 75-300 AL FAJ - f4.5-f5.8 - cost me less than £60 BNIB - lightweight and very useful.
I`ve got a nice Sigma 28-300 Hyperzoom - which is faster at f3.5-f6.3 but much heavier.
On the low light I use SMC Tak 55mm f2 and a 50mm f1.4 or an M 50mm f1.7 all lovely to handle and great shots - all M42 screw.
For true macro I have a S-M-C Macro Tak 100 f4 and use reversing rings or step-down rings and or bellows.
As Matt says keep away from cheapos although have a look at the "lenses for under a tenner" thread on the forum site.

Crikey Stefan - that`s beautiful if a little sad for a Monday morning !

It is also a lesson for life - we are not here for a dress rehearsal - this is the real thing and even if it does sometimes not work out for us we should always go with our instincts and aim for our dreams.

I regret nothing in my 64 years and whilst there are still challenges out there , I have nothing that I haven`t wanted to do or achieve personally left for me to finish.

Remenber - you have nothing to fear except fear itself...............
