Here is the place for discussion about weekly competition #175 - A Treasure.

As is traditional I will stop looking in here once the first entry has been submitted.

Just remember that this competition will close at Midnight GMT on Sunday 21st November.

Good luck,

Apologies. A cut & paste error. It should say "Weekly". While I could say it was because I'm judging both the current fortnightly and weekly competitions I'm sure it is really because I'm getting old .

At the moment it is quite easy as nothing has been posted. Hopefully later on I'll be in a position to demonstrate that these two tasks can co-exsist. Others have succeeded well at this. I hope I can meet the challenge .

You just need everybody to take a photograph of a timepiece that they consider to be a treasure, submit the one image for both competitions and then you can use the same comments

There has been a comment about a problem with uploading to the Gallery - I've just tried the Gallery and the Gallery Competition and both seem fine.

Anyone having a problem?
Best regards, John

I couldn`t get the original photo to upload John - it was 10.5mb - so I resized it to a gif at under 1mb and it popped through fine.

JPEG is better, but 10.5MB was pushing things I think!

For the Gallery I usually resize as per EPZ (1000 pixels wide at 72ppi)and file sizes are very modest - 200 to 400K usually. It's enough for a web image!

For the forum, 800 pixels wide and 200K is enough.
Best regards, John

Just to let you know that I have posted my reviews and results.

I would like to say many thanks to all of you that entered. You all have far exceeded my expectations and it has been a privilege to review your work.

Choosing the winners has been exceedingly difficult as all of the entries had winning atributes.

I'm now off to some hopefully well earned sleep.
